Wonderful home
House as described, Dannie is a wonderful host and always reachable. She helped us with everything in our special situation, we will never forget her and Jessica. If you want a home away from the tourists you are right. Awaiting luxury and quietness, go in a hotel. It’s a normal neighborhood with chicken, dogs and everything else. We enjoyed it here, directly on the Hamakua coast line. Thanks for all, Dannie!

Beautiful interior
The house was located in a very local neighborhood, neighbors were parked in our parking spot. The code for the house was not in the email we received, when we called the contact number it was out of service. Self check in process was difficult. The inside of the house was beautiful but there were roaches all over the house dead and alive, as well as cockroach feces. The kitchen sink faucet was not secured/glued down so it moved every time you use it. It was a great location for what we needed for that weekend. Definitely feel like we were overcharged considering all of these issues. Definitely not a place for the faint of heart.

Cute
It was a cute 3 bedroom home . Smaller than I imagined but it was a good size . The artwork was nice . All the little extra stuff made it feel like a home and not hotel . Definitely liked the location . It's not as noisy as mentioned . It's a good short term rental for sure .

Why they chose this property

If you are looking for a local neighborhood, this is a place where the locals stay. It is not for anyone looking for a quiet hotel-like experience. It is clean and refurbished but a more basic accommodation. The neighborhood is lively with neighbors interacting and kids playing. Please feel free to strike up a conversation, as most neighbors are very friendly.

What makes this property unique

While some of the homes in this neighborhood are a little more unkept than others, this home offers an experience you most likely won't forget. The people are friendly and kind. The houses are close together, so you'll see people and kids interacting regularly.
This home is great as a mid-point to Hilo and the northern portion of the Island. Please note that there are ear plugs provided for the roosters crowing and dogs barking.
