About this property
Red Door on Rosselle
Welcome to The Red Door on Rosselle, nestled in Jacksonville’s beloved Murray Hill neighborhood—a quirky, lived-in area full of charm, personality, and history. If you’re looking to experience the city like a local, this is your spot. You’re not in a polished, soulless high-rise here—this is a real neighborhood, with old homes, walkable streets, and a strong sense of community.
Murray Hill is one of Jacksonville’s older neighborhoods, with homes dating back to the early 1900s through the 1940s. That means you’ll see a mix of architectural styles—bungalows, brick cottages, and mid-century gems—all with their own little quirks. Our home is no exception. While it’s been updated for comfort, you may notice a creaky floorboard, a sticky window, or older plumbing fixtures. These aren’t flaws—they’re just part of the story, part of the charm. If you appreciate character and a little imperfection, you’ll feel right at home here.
Eat Like a Local
Murray Hill and nearby Riverside offer a food scene that locals are proud of—laid-back, creative, and full of personality. A few blocks away, you’ll find Moon River Pizza, a neighborhood staple serving huge New York-style slices in a no-frills setting. For breakfast or lunch, Maple Street Biscuit Company is a Southern favorite, known for its flaky biscuits and comfort food with a twist.
Walk over to Dreamette, an old-school soft-serve ice cream stand that’s been serving up sweet treats since 1948—it’s a local rite of passage. In the evening, grab tacos and margaritas at Taqueria Cinco, or head to El Jefe Tex Mex for chips, queso, and a lively crowd. Craft beer fans can stroll to Fishweir Brewing Co., a friendly neighborhood brewery with small-batch pours and frequent food trucks.
Soak in the Culture
You’re also just a quick drive from Riverside’s cultural scene. Browse the curated shelves at Chamblin’s Bookmine, Jacksonville’s most iconic used bookstore, then stroll through Five Points, where murals, vintage shops, and record stores reflect the area’s eclectic energy.
For more formal art and history, head to the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens, where you’ll find impressive galleries and riverfront gardens. Or catch a show downtown at the historic Florida Theatre, which hosts everything from concerts to stand-up comedy in a stunning 1920s-era venue.
Day Trips and Adventures
When you're ready to venture beyond the neighborhood, the rest of Northeast Florida is within easy reach. Jacksonville Beach is about 30 minutes away, perfect for a day in the sun. Or head 45 minutes south to St. Augustine, the nation’s oldest city, where cobblestone streets, Spanish forts, and seaside charm await.
The Red Door on Rosselle is perfect for guests who appreciate a little character in their stay—who prefer places that feel lived-in, warm, and authentic. If you’re looking for a cookie-cutter experience, this may not be your place. But if you're here to feel connected—to the city, the neighborhood, and the spirit of Jacksonville—then you're going to love it here.
Come for the food, the art, the history... and stay for the vibe. We can’t wait to welcome you.
