About this property
What a SPECTACULAR view! 2 bdrm Poipu Sands Condo -Short walk to Poipu Beaches.
THE BEST DESCRIPTIONS OF OUR CONDO COME FROM OUR GUESTS - PLEASE READ THEIR REVIEWS.
With spectacular views, our condo is superbly located within the elegant, serene and spacious Poipu Sands, which enjoys the distinction as Poipu's premier condo resort development for those seeking an uncrowded oasis that's a short greenbelt stroll to all Poipu Beaches. The guests who enjoy our condo come for romantic get aways, family vacations, to celebrate special occasions, and to embrace outdoor and water sport activities.
WHY 223 POIPU SANDS?
The views are spectacular - from the second floor Lanai watch the sunrise, the ocean waves of Keoniloa Bay (aka Shipwrecks Beach), Shipwreck's cliff divers, the setting sun's glow on the cliff's rock face with pink clouds above. The lanai also looks down on our Condo Association's large, grand pool. At night the pool's underwater lights create a reflecting pool with surreal sapphire blue waters. Framing the pool and directly behind it is a large planted memorial burial hill containing the remains the earliest native inhabitants dating back to 200 AD. A wide green belt sweeps from the pool to Shipwrecks Beach.
The condo is an easy stroll to the best Poipu has to offer. Shipwreck Beach/Cliff is a few minutes away as are the adjacent cliffs to its south with their mesmerizing crashing surf, especially beautiful at dawn when the turtles are seen bobbing in the morning light. You might also see whales, spinner dolphins or monk seals. The world class, renowned, 5-star, Grand Hyatt Resort and Spa with its multitude of amenities sits above Shipwreck Beach. The Hyatt's restaurants, luaus, tropical gardens, Hawaiian music and entertainment, spa and numerous activities are there for you to enjoy. A 10-minute walk on the green belt path connects our condo to all the other Poipu Beaches - the Poipu State Beaches: Brenneke's, Baby Beach Cove, and those in front of the Marriott and Sheraton. This collection of walkable beaches provides the full spectrum of water activities: excellent boogie boarding, body surfing, surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkeling, open water swimming and easy, no drama ocean lounging. [Note: many of the other Poipu condos complexes, especially the newer ones like Koloa Landing and PiliMai, do not have easy, walkable beach access.] Of course, all of Poipu's and Koloa's fine and casual dining restaurants as well as shopping opportunities are minutes away, all within a few miles. A variety of golf experiences abound, including the Hyatt's tournament play Poipu Bay, Poipu Kiahuna's Robert Trent Jones course, Kukuiolono, a local 9-hole favorite, Puakea in Lihue, and all the courses further north.
While much of your time will be spent on the oversized Lanai, the condo's interior is spacious at 1,353 sf. Each of the two bedrooms has an en suite bathroom. The master has a King bed, and the guest bedroom has a queen. The master bed is situated to capture the sun's dawn rays, which fill the bedroom. Watch the sun rise and Shipwreck cliff come to light while awaking in bed. The morning light floods our southeast-facing condo. The living and dining rooms are comfortable and spacious. All the indoor and Lanai furniture is comfortable and casually accommodating. The kitchen has a complete set of new appliances and all the utensils and gadgets needed to prepare all your meals. The condo is equipped with a washer and dryer, two TVs, DVD players, a CD player, WiFi as well as beach gear ... boogie boards, float noodles, beach chairs, beach towels, and tennis rackets (the court is across the parking lot). Our abundance of outdoor gear is meant to make it easy and convenient for you to enjoy outdoor activities.
WHY POIPU SANDS?
Poipu Sands is situated on the quieter, less populated north side of Poipu. Its 73 condo units are spread over 6 three-story buildings that arc around a wide, long green belt, ensuring spaciousness and serenity in an uncrowded tropical garden setting. The newly renovated grand pool is surrounded by the green belt and is the largest and only heated condo pool in Poipu. With a length of 23 yards, it invites lap swimmers. There are two outdoor grilling areas - one behind the pool and the other within the manicured greenbelt. Poipu Sands is a member of the Poipu Kai Association which meticulously maintains our grounds as well as all of its 40 acres, including the greenbelt linking Poipu State Beaches with Poipu Sands and Shipwreck's Beach. Besides our adjacent tennis court, Poipu Kai offers our guests 8 other tennis courts as well as a hot tub. In addition to maintaining our grounds, Poipu Kai also offers us with a 24-hour patrol service.
WHY POIPU?
Poipu is located on the southern part of Kauai, which receives much less rain than the north. Minimizing the chances of rain is an important consideration when planning your vacation. There are times when the north and east parts of the island are experiencing heavy rains while it is dry in Poipu. Poipu has an abundance of local attractions - great beaches & watersport opportunities, excellent dining & shopping, golf, hiking trails, a world renowned National Botanical Gardens, native ceremonial sites, spouting horn - and it is also ideally located to take advantage of all that Kauai has to offer. The beaches further south and west are an easy drive, as is Waimea Canyon with its stunning views and hikes. Lihue is 20 minutes to the north, the Kilauea Lighthouse is a little under an hour, and the trip to Hanalei Bay takes a little over an hour.
WHY KAUAI?
Come to Kauai for its Aloha, for its relaxed, casual atmosphere in a tropical setting. It is known as the Garden Island for good reason. As the oldest Hawaiian Island, it has had more time for geological formation, from more sandy beaches to richer topsoil to support its lush vegetation. Maybe this helps explain why the friendly and relaxed Kauaians live the Aloha spirit.
