This house fit the bill for my family—35 minutes to Mount Snow and Stratton, but in a peaceful setting close to a village and away from the ski mountain scene. It’s on a quiet residential road directly on the West River, with great views. It was clean, with comfy beds, lots of cooking supplies and tons of books. One important thing to note is that the house is on 4 different levels, so that means lots of stairs between the entry, living area, kitchen, and upstairs bedrooms. It wasn’t a problem for us but would be a deal-breaker for some. The property was offered through a rental agency so no direct contact with hosts, but the communication was no problem. It snowed during our stay, and the driveway was plowed three times, which was amazing. We would love to return.
