Unique Schoolhouse Retreat – 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Full Kitchen
Located in charming Paxico, this one-of-a-kind converted schoolhouse is the perfect retreat for families, groups, or reunions. With three spacious classroom suites and inviting shared spaces, your group will enjoy comfort, character, and plenty of room to relax. The Old School is well-loved by guests across multiple travel sites, so you may recognize it from other listings online. This exclusive rental includes:

3 bedrooms (Classrooms 101, 102, and 103)

2 king beds, 2 queen beds, 4 full beds, and 1 full sofa bed

2 bathrooms (1 private, 1 shared with separate stalls)

WiFi, air conditioning, heating, and a washing machine

Classroom 103 features its own private bathroom, kitchenette, and dining area, while Classrooms 101 and 102 are each two-room suites. These rooms include:

A separate sleeping area with 3 beds (1 queen and 2 full)

A dedicated lounging area with couch, chairs, TV, mini fridge, workspace, and more
(Room 102 also includes a full-size sofa bed in the lounge area for extra guests)

Guests in Rooms 101 and 102 share access to a fully equipped kitchen, laundry area, and hallway bathrooms (with individual stalls and privacy). The schoolhouse hallway, with its nostalgic charm and large windows, is a lovely spot for morning coffee or evening conversation.

Experience a cozy, spacious stay in this creatively remodeled schoolhouse—and enjoy everything Paxico and the scenic Flint Hills have to offer.

We offer weekly & monthly stays as well. Monthly price is based on full capacity occupancy. Please contact host for additional information & details on monthly accommodations.

***To ensure a comfortable stay for all guests and to protect our plumbing systems, total overnight occupancy is limited to 16 people. Our gymnasium is available for gatherings for an additional fee; however, loud or disruptive parties are not permitted. Please note that individual classrooms may be rented separately, depending on availability and are booked thru a different short term rental platform.

This was such a fun, unique stay. The grandkids thought it was so cool to be sleeping in a school. There was plenty of space for our grown kids to have private space. The beds were comfortable. We would definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone.

What makes this property truly unique is its history and transformation. Once a grade school and later a middle school, it has been thoughtfully renovated into a one-of-a-kind guest stay. Each former classroom is now a spacious suite that blends original schoolhouse charm with modern comfort. Guests love the nostalgic details—like chalkboard accents—paired with today’s amenities. It’s not every day you get to stay overnight in a classroom!
