About this property
Relax amongst the trees!
Bring the whole family, there’s plenty of room for fun, whatever your preference! Relaxing on the deck, hosting a family game night, taking a walk or run on the nearby trails, or going to the historic downtown to one of the many local festivals. Our 3b/2b home is equipted with everything you'll need to enjoy your stay; high speed internet, large 52" TV, Generac generator, fully stocked kitchen, firepit, BBQ, and many family games and puzzles. Five minutes from downtown Nevada City and walking distance to the NID or Cascade Trails.
Our newly updated home has an open floor plan with beautiful high wood beam ceilings, wood shutters, and a gas burning stove. The living room, dining room and kitchen all have views of the backyard with tall pines, spruce, and flowering trees. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the necessary essentials including an espresso maker and popcorn maker, to ensure your stay is complete.
The upstairs bedroom has its own private deck with a view of the backyard and two adirondack chairs, a queen bed, en-suite bathroom with soaking tub and shower. The two additional bedrooms downstairs have a queen bed, desk, TV, and vanity in one room and a double and twin bed in the other.
Looking for something to do when you’re not outside? The cupboard in the dining room has many puzzles, board games, books, and even a collection of old movies on DVD (remember those?). For the younger ones, the Harry Potter closet, next to the cupboard, has two large plastic tubs with toddler toys, Lego Bionicles, a high chair and toddler booster seat, (porta crib in in the upstairs bedroom closet). You'll also find the vacuum, broom/dustpan, and drying rack for wet towels and bathing suits.

About the host
Hosted by Michelle Martinez

My husband, Larry, and I live in Ventura, CA. We are both recently retired but I still work part-time as a HS cross county/track coach. I love running and Larry is an avid car nut. We bought our home here in Nevada City after we retired. We love coming up here but don't come up as often as we'd like. We hope to share our home with others so they can enjoy this magical place too.
Why they chose this property
The neighborhood is special, everyone looks out for one another. Its quiet and beautiful and close enough to both Nevada City and Grass Valley that we can easily drive into town in less than 10 min. I love how close we are to the NID and Cascade Trails, I can run from the house and be on the trails in 1/2 mile. Larry enjoys walking the neighborhood and chatting it up with the neighbors.
What makes this property unique
Our home is very cozy, a true home away from home! I love the open living room, dining room, and kitchen space, it's great when friends and family are here. The large back deck is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy our morning coffee or evening glass of wine while sitting next to the firepit and watching the birds and squirels jump from tree to tree.
