About the host
Hosted by Basia and Nick Riera

Hi! We’re Basia & Nick—former city dwellers who sold everything in 2024 to homestead on 20 off-grid acres along the Muskegon River. What started as a blank canvas is now a peaceful escape we’re proud to share!
We love the outdoors, working with our hands, and building a life that’s rooted in simplicity and nature. Hosting gives us the opportunity to welcome others into this quiet, beautiful space we’ve poured our hearts into. Whether you’re here to explore, unwind, or just unplug for a while, we’re honored to share it with you.

Why they chose this property
We chose this unique spot because of its natural beauty, peaceful setting, and direct connection to the outdoors. Our property sits on a private 1/4-mile bend of the Muskegon River, with 20 acres of woods, water, and wildlife. It’s quiet, secluded, and feels like a true escape—yet it’s just a short drive to local towns for essentials, dining, and small-town charm.
What we love most is how the area offers the best of both worlds: total privacy and immersion in nature, with easy access to trails, kayaking, fishing, and exploring. Whether you're here to unplug or get outside and play, the scene is always calming, wild, and refreshingly simple.
