Though this property was very clean, quiet, and in such an ideal location (close to the Berri-UQAM Metro station and a slew of restaurants), we had an unfortunate issue upon arrival that our aircon unit was not working. The room was very humid and muggy, as it was already after contact hours for help (there is no front desk staff, self-check in only), we left a message, opened the windows and tolerated as best we could. A very sweaty and tough night. The next morning, staff did communicate via email with apology and to address the issue…which they did by our return with both a fan and a temporary a/c unit rigged. Much appreciated; however, the rigged a/c flipped the breaker in our room and after hours again so no one to contact and assist us. A second night with no a/c…the only solution was to prop the door open to our hallway and pray for some airflow from there. Not an ideal stay, nor circumstances. Though I did appreciate the efforts, managing a hotel is not like managing an airbnb and should have 24/7 assistance, Yes, they were responsive via email, but no calls or staff to directly assist. I would not stay again even though some reimbursement has been assured (but still not confirmed after 5 days of our stay). I get the desire to run businesses more “efficiently” with limited staffing, but this proved to me I won’t be choosing this model again in future.
