Welcome to the 1901! Enjoy a stay in this grand colonial revival home located just steps from the Ashland University Campus, Freer Field, and minutes from downtown Ashland. This home is prided to be the first home to ever be moved in Ashland (on logs!) in 1932 after being built in 1901, hence the name!
The house: With hardwood floors, 15 ft ceilings, crown molding, and a sprawling porch, the 1901 retains its 1900’s charm. Once you cross the entryway, a full living room sits to your left with a large couch, Roku tv, and small dining space. To your right, a dining room holds a table long enough to fit 6 comfortably. Beyond that a small sunroom holds a few plush chairs where coffee or reading can be enjoyed. Moving to the back of the house, a full kitchen holds all the amenities you may need, coffee bar included! Back at the front of the house, if you look straight ahead, you will see the beautiful wood staircase that takes you upstairs to four bedrooms and one full bathroom. Here, a total of 10 adults can comfortably sleep. Two bedrooms feature a king bed, one bedroom holds a queen bed, and one is home to two sets of bunk beds. An additional full bathroom, closet and laundry room are located in the basement. (Note: there is no bathroom located on the main floor) The sprawling porch provides ample space to enjoy the view of the neighborhood and Freer Field. The private fully fenced backyard includes a small dining area and lighting to enjoy those nice summer evenings.
Guest Access: There is parking available to the guest including a two-car garage, driveway and plenty of street parking in front of the house. The front door is accessible with an access code that will be given at the time of booking.
Things to note: This home is family friendly and baby friendly. It is currently not handicap accessible or pet friendly.

This was a wonderful place to stay while we were in Ohio for a family wedding. The house has character and great amenities. It was huge and had a ton of space. Perfect for what we needed.
We had a wonderful stay! Place was perfect for our large girls trip. Lots of good places to eat and quick drive to the Ohio state reformatory and the Ohio Horror museum.
Extremely close to Ashland University campus. Older home but that's part of the charm. Door takes a little muscle to open. Bedrooms were great sizes. Air-conditioning throughout. Special treats from local companies upon arrival. Had coffee bar also. Would stay again.
Cool, Comfy and oh so close. A great property that oozes character. Classic architectural features that you rarely see in a VRBO.Good size kitchen, large rooms and high ceilings add to the expereince.Plus the only way to stay closer to Ashland U is to matriculate.
What a fabulous weekend. We went to my granddaughter's debut of NCAA volleyball go Hilltoppers. What a beautiful home with such history. Definitely will return when we go back to Ashland. Thank you

Thanks for staying with us! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay!
We had a great stay. What a lovely home; quaint, comfortable and a real part of historical Ashland. The property was super close to Ashland University. The town and surrounding area are a part of Americana. We were happy to donate some supplies to the kitchen (a larger frying pan, measuring spoons, larger cooking sheet and a hand mixer) as we had to feed the 4 of us and a small army of hungry women’s soccer players. We’re hoping to come back several more times over the next 4 years!
the renovated historic home was super spacious and light filled. the A/C was great - especially considering it was a heat wave when we were in town, plus plenty of hot shower water. home easily slept 10 with 4 big bedrooms. wish 2nd bath was on main floor instead of basement, but to be expected in a historic home. super close to Ashland University and would be a great place to stay for Balloon Fest which is at the park next door. we didn't cook much, but kitchen seemed to have what would be needed.

Thank you so much for the review and for staying with us! We appreciate you!
The communication was excellent when we needed assistance. The house was very clean and there was a nice little snack package in the kitchen when we arrived. We had a couple of issues, but they were right on top of things. The check in process was very smooth, as well as the check out process. We would definitely stay there again! It was close to everything we needed it to be. It was a pleasure to be able to stay with our family!
I am originally a California native and met my husband Tyler while we were both living in L.A. Tyler was born and raised in Ashland so we decided it would be a great place to start our life together. Tyler and I have two little girls who keep life full of chaos! We enjoy brewery hopping, spending time with family/friends, and pretty much anything involving sports. We hope you enjoy your stay!
