About this property

Private and Tranquil Country Retreat

Unwind at this beautiful quiet country get-away on 10 private acres in the center of the Hudson Valley. Our 3,800 square foot house is set far back on the property, surrounded by trees and atop a hill overlooking green meadows. Large front and back decks for relaxing days and outside dining gazebo for 8 people, BBQ included.

Set up to accommodate up to 7 people. Downstairs; Master bedroom with ensuite bathroom; Spacious study as a work or bed room and music room with vinyl records. Upstairs; Guest bedroom with Queen bed and Kids bedroom with large bunk bed, play area and full bathroom. Fully equipped eat in kitchen, with country table for 6 and large oak dining table for 12. Sun room ideal for reading and soaking up some sunshine. Fully finished basement with large TV for family movies, kids art area, small gym with Peloton and a laundry room.

Under 2 hours from midtown Manhattan, 3 minutes off the Taconic State Parkway; 15 minutes from the villages of Rhinebeck and Millbrook, as well as 25 minutes from Hudson. Closest Amtrak train is Rhinecliff (15 minutes) and Metro-North train is Wassaic off the Harlem line (25 minutes) or Poughkeepsie off the Hudson line (35 minutes).

Enjoy fantastic local restaurants, distilleries, endless outdoor activities or just relaxing and watching sunsets. In the winter, enjoy easy drive access to local ski mountains (Catamount, Butternut, Belleayre, Hunter, Windham), or just sled on the property and warm up by the wood fireplace.

Not only is this property private and tranquil, the views are beautiful and can be enjoyed by any room. The moment we walked in it felt cozy and welcoming. The accomodations met our needs perfectly as we were there with both adults and children.A great place to rest and relax, with plenty of things to do for all interests in the surrounding areas.

We had an end of summer family weekend away and this was the perfect send off! The home had such a beautiful layout, was clean and fully stocked. Anything that you needed to make you feel at home was there.The outdoor area was so relaxing with daytime in the pool, grilling, nights under the pergola and strolls around the garden/property. We never wanted to leave the house for the 4 days we were there. When we did, we went to the neighboring Millbrook winery and to surrounding restaurants. Highly recommend! Guy was super responsive with clear instructions about the property and recommendations for anything you needed. We had such a wonderful time and would recommend this property and the great hosts!

This property is truly a private and tranquil country retreat. The setting is fabulous, and it seem that no matter where you situate yourself inside or out, there is a delightful view to be enjoyed from a comfortable seat. The kitchen was well equipped with anything a serious cook would need to prepare a snack or meal. The design of the house lends itself to casual get togethers - our group of five adults could comfortably gather together on the front porch, in the kitchen, the sun room, living room and back deck as easily as we could separate and find a private spot and enjoy some alone time. The front porch is amazing for sunrises (or any time of day!), and the back deck has ample space for lounging and dining. We had a lovely barbeque and dined outside while watching the moon come up. The beds are comfortable, the house is well supplied, and Guy is a terrific host! We all hope to come back. Thank you Guy for making our stay a wonderful experience.

Beautiful, well decorated and well stocked with supplies. The grounds were gorgeous and the pool was just what we were looking for. Close enough to towns for shopping, antiquing and more. Loved the birdwatching especially the hummingbirds. We would stay again! Guy was easy to communicate with and even checked in.

Peaceful relaxing country retreat

Booking this property was so easy and effortless. The host answers your questions promptly and is great to deal with. The home is located in a beautiful setting and is quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Deer stop by to visit daily along with wild turkeys walking through the yard. Fox have been seen too. It is an easy drive from this location to Rhinebeck, Millbrook, and to the Livingston Mills Estate in Staatsburg and also Hyde Park to visit the Roosevelt and Vanderbilt Estates. Wineries are nearby and beautiful farms and amazing scenery. The host provides a whole list of information on the house and places to eat and visit in the area. The house is very comfortable with a fully stocked kitchen and I have had the best nights sleep here in the country. I have already asked about returning next year. This property has been the best for my vacation. Once again, the host is just terrific and this is a fantastic property in a beautiful part of Dutchess County, New York.
