The house was perfect for a family weekend. We especially enjoyed being able to walk into downtown Fairhaven and the large gathering space for meals and games.

We enjoyed our stay at the Black squirrel in Fairview. It was a peaceful location and easy to get in and out of. We saw deer walking up and down the street just about every day. It was convenient and walkable to the downtown area. The inside of the house was clean and worked well for us. The kitchen had everything we needed. It had nice gathering areas for our group. Most of the communication we had with our host was through text or email, but that worked fine for us. Overall, a very nice place to stay while you’re in the Bellingham area.

We loved our stay! Everything was great. The proximity to the trails and downtown was perfect for us. The house was well equipped to handle all 8 of us including 2 toddlers. It was very clean and we loved the outdoor heaters over the picnic area. We will definitely stay again.

This home was exactly as advertised and perfect for our group. The rooms and beds were very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed and the house was beautifully decorated and very clean. Short walking distance to town and restaurants was great! Highly recommend and we would definitely stay again.

Great house, great location. Perfect spot for our family. Very roomy and spacious. Kitchen was stocked with appliances and everything we needed to cook our meals. Local grocery within walking distance had everything to make our meals or Fred Meyer was a 10 min drive. We walked a lot. Beautiful sunset at the Marine Park and Boulevard Park. The house is right next to a trail. Fairhaven is a cute, clean and friendly neighborhood. Lots of restaurants and shops. The patio was a great gathering spot. Heaters were a warm addition to the chilly mornings for coffee. Would have enjoyed having a grill but think there may not have been one because of the burn ban.Hosts were easy to reach but had no issues. Would highly recommend and would stay here again.

Family who lives in Bellingham suggested we stay in Fairhaven. We loved the area! The construction was a little noisy but not unbearable. The bedrooms were comfortable, and the kitchen was great.

The Black Squirrel was a wonderful place for our family to stay in the Fairhaven/Bellingham area. We were in town for funeral services and had family coming in from around the country, and this house ended up being exactly what we needed. It gave us a quiet, comfortable place to gather, cook, play games, share stories, and just spend time together.The house was very clean, bright, and comfortable. The bedrooms had great room-darkening curtains, which was nice, and there was plenty of space for a larger group. Between the bedrooms, bathrooms, gathering areas, and the large TV room with comfortable sofas, everyone had room to spread out.The kitchen was very well stocked, and we cooked several family meals there. There was plenty of cookware, dishes, spices, herbs, and even a nice selection of teas. It really felt like a house set up for people to actually stay, cook, and enjoy themselves instead of just having the bare minimum.We also loved all the little extras around the house. There were interesting books everywhere, some really unique artwork, plus board games and cards that we ended up using quite a bit in the evenings.One of the best surprises was the wildlife. Despite the name Black Squirrel, the deer may have been the real stars of the stay. Almost every morning we saw one or two deer quietly walking through the yard, which was such a nice way to start the day.The outdoor space was great too, including the heated outdoor seating area with the picnic-style tabl
