Spacious French villa on a river, unique vacation home for family and friends
Holiday house rental for family and friends
This property is an old rustic watermill (1697) turned into an untypical villa (1850) : luxury rooms with large windows, high ceilings, wooden floorboards, and a spacious private garden will leave plenty of room for our guests to jump from some alone time to sharing activities, next to the hearth, sipping burgundy wine or in the water against the current of our private swimming pond. Don’t be shy and invite the whole gang, as the house can accommodate around 15 people!
We only accept bookings for 2 nights or more, except if the stay is within 1 month of the booking.
Please note that the tap water is not drinkable, but we supply plenty of bottled water.
The cottage is independent and autonomous, there are three floors for you. On the other hand; the house's (wood-burning) boiler is in the basement of the building, also autonomous. We are the ones who fill the boiler for your comfort. The underground has its own entrance (north orientation), just like the house (east and south orientation). We will be at your disposal but out of sight.
“We wish we could stay just a little longer” is what we hear most when it’s time to go. To facilitate medium to long term rental, we guarantee lower prices the longer you stay. Starting at a 10% discount for 3 nights, save , up to 30% for 7 nights

Très agréable séjour au Moulin du Merle
Nous avons été très bien accueillis par Gilberthe qui a été vraiment adorable et prévenante.
L'endroit est vraiment charmant et les chambres spacieuses. Les draps anciens ont beaucoup de charme!
Par contre l'eau non potable nécessite une organisation dont nous n'avons pas l'habitude et beaucoup de consommation de plastique...

Villegiature dans la Nièvre...
Un endroit merveilleux pour se retrouver en famille, entre amis, la maison est très accueillante, décorée avec goût tout en gardant son ambiance d'antan. L'eau du moulin aide à la détente, un vrai moment de bonheur.

Très beau gîte, très agréable séjour
Comme indiqué dans l'annonce l'eau aux robinets n'est pas potable, ce qui nécessite une adaptation, mais tout est organisé pour gérer la situation. L'isolement du gîte nécessite aussi de bien s'approvisionner à l'avance coté nourriture. Ceci dit, le service de restauration proposé sur place est très bien.

House with historic atmosphere in the countryside
Lovely old house in a scenic countryside area with plenty of room and plenty of books (including a big collection of Dutch books). The landlady is very helpful and friendly. The children enjoyed the stream (crayfish and fishes to be spotted; a bit of swimming is possible against the stream). The area is nice for cycling and walking. We enjoyed a relaxing stay.

immense maison remplie de charme
Le weekend s'est parfaitement bien déroulé. La maison est superbe et le terrain permet de s'adonner à pleins d’activités diverses. Gilberthe est une hôte adorable et attentionnée. Elle sait être présente mais discrète. Nous recommandons cette location tant pour des événements familiaux qu'entres amis. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir. RDV pour les 10 ans !

Très bon séjour
Nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans cette charmante maison, entre amis, pour un week-end de retrouvailles.
Belle propriété, grand espace extérieur, les petits et grands y ont trouvé leur compte.
Seul petit bémol, l'eau non potable, mais compensée par de l'eau minérale mise généreusement à disposition.
Nous recommandons cet endroit et y reviendrons sans hésitation si l'occasion se présente.

Maison parfaite pour réunion familiale
Nous avons passé 3 jours d'enchantement pour une réunion familiale. La maison et l'accueil de Gilberthe y ont été pour beaucoup. Les chambres sont spacieuses,la literie de qualité, la cuisine bien équipée, les salles de bain confortables, avec un grand dortoir pour les jeunes enfants. Le jardin est splendide au printemps. Occasion de jeux pour les enfants de tous âges, de baignade et repas à l'ombre des grands arbres. Gilberthe a su mettre une âme dans cette maison que l'on s'approprie rapidement. Gilberthe a su se montrer utile et nous dépanner pour garantir un séjour de qualité.

vielle maison familiale pleine de charme
La propriétaire est aux petits soins (repas à l'arrivée, linge lavé pour nous rendre service, joignable en permanence). L'eau du robinet n'est pas potable, il y a des bouteilles d'eau et un grand récipient qui filtre l'eau du robinet. Attention, avec de jeunes enfants, plusieurs endroits peuvent être dangereux !

Maison pleine de charme pour un séjour entre amis/famille à la campagne
Notre séjour chez Gilberthe a été très agréable. Nous serions bien restes plus longtemps. La maison est pleine de charme, bien équipée et dispose de tres nombreux couchages.
Il a été facile d'organiser notre séjour avec Gilberthe tres a l'écoute et tres reactive. Merci encore pour cet excellent séjour !
Seul point, attention pour les enfants en bas âge aux bibelots nombreux qui font le charme de la maison et l'accès à la rivière. Mais tout s'est bien passé pour nous ! Je recommande fortement !

Des hôtes discrets, efficaces et sympathiques.
Un très bon repas concocté par notre hôtesse propriétaire.
Un lieu parfait en nombre de pièces et de chambres pour les réunions de grandes familles.
Un jardin superbe que nous n'avons pas pu exploiter malheureusement car le temps ne s'y prêtait pas.
Un endroit où nous voulons absolument retourner.

Comme son nom, notre séjour a été idyllique
