The Stone Bluff Cabin is beautiful inside and out! If you want a relaxing retreat to reset and recharge this is the place! We enjoyed watching the trains, eagles and the river. Sleeping accommodations were comfortable. The interior of this place is unique and gorgeous! We could tell the owners put a lot of love into this place. Just a quick drive to Savanna for lunch, antique and thrift store shopping. We cannot wait to come back!
This cabin is truly a gem! It is a beautiful and quaint place that makes it easy to relax and enjoy its modern and modest amenities. Our host was cordial and prompt in correspondence. We will definitely stay here again!
Exactly what my wife and I need - disconnect from the world and beautifully quiet. We already are trying to find a way to return. This beautiful cabin in the woods is sanctuary.

Thank you for the review Bruce, we appreciate you choosing to stay at Stone Bluff Cabin. Happy Holidays!
Beautiful home right on the lake that’s away tucked into the forest. Very secluded which is what me and my party wanted. Dirt road access that felt like an adventure each time we came and went. Surrounded by nature, the mornings and nights always had some creature buzzing and singing which was very peaceful to hear. There are train tracks nearby, and you can hear the trains passing, but it’s never too noisy. The mattress in the bedroom downstairs is very comfortable and I slept so soundly sharing with a friend. Beds upstairs also were reportedly very comfy. We all loved the pillows. The host did set up an air mattress as a fourth bed in case. Kitchen was full of necessary tools and dish ware, just keep up with cleaning as the sink and dishwasher are pretty small. Bathroom is clean, laundry super useful. Using the grill was easy (must buy your own charcoal) and the fire pit was nice. There are lots of insects that like to hang out around the fire pit area and outdoor seating, especially funky looking daddy long legs and earwigs, so use the leaf blower or dust off the seating thoroughly before relaxing.Host is very responsive and kind, sends a small message before your arrival to explain where things are and what can be used. There is no real lake access from the cabin, you have to drive around to the island for kayaking and going to the beach but it’s well worth it, especially kayaking! Definitely hike the caves and surrounding area, so beautiful and adventurous!
If you like a quiet, serene place to stay with good views of water, this is a place to consider. The cabin was very clean, well accompanied with comfortable settings. We enjoyed nights around the fire and the occasional train to complete the rural setting. The only drawback to this place is the strong musty odor inside. Luckily, the temperature allowed us to keep the windows open during the stay. This property requires several large dehumidifiers to help improve the conditions caused by it's location at the base of tall bluff.

Hi Don,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I'm glad you enjoyed the serene setting and fireside evenings.
When you initially informed us that your father couldn't stay due to a breathing problem, we promptly offered a full refund so you could stay elsewhere. You requested a discount then opted to stay when we respectfully declined.
We've hosted over 100 guests in the last 18 months, and this is the first report of an odor issue.
We wish you and your family the best in all of your travels.
