Perfect location in the East Village. Nice that it is on the first floor so you are not having to climb lots of stairs. Great for 2 people. Check in was super easy and apartment was very clean. Building entrance was clean and it was pretty quiet when we were there. Host is very easy to communicate with. Kitchen and close proximity to Wegmans for groceries could be helpful to some. Bed was very comfy and water pressure was great. Overall a really good stay. Great place to come in and out of in-between New York City adventures and late nights.

Couldn’t be more disappointed with customer service & cleanliness on host/vrbo end. I got cussed out upon arrival by the host because she couldn’t explain clearly how to open the door. After paying for early check in she claimed check in wasn’t until 4pm so I had to resend proof of early check in. The sheets were stained, the towels were stained and I was strictly instructed not to speak to anyone in the building. Took 20 tries to finally get the host on the phone. The tv remotes didn’t work so I wasn’t able to use that. The microwave also didn’t work/ outlet in the kitchen. I requested a refund and/or VRBO credit and have yet to hear back. Would not recommend!!

Thank you for your feedback. We strongly disagree with the characterization of the events described. At no point did the host use inappropriate language or behave unprofessionally. Clear check-in instructions were provided in advance, and early check-in was honored as confirmed.
Had any cleanliness or maintenance concerns been reported during the stay, we would have addressed them immediately. The apartment is professionally cleaned before each guest, and no issues with linens, towels, TV remotes, microwave, or kitchen outlets were reported to us at the time.
The request not to engage with other residents or building staff is a standard instruction in residential buildings to respect privacy and house rules. Communication was maintained, and we assisted as soon as contact was made.
Refund and credit requests are handled in accordance with VRBO policies, and we encourage all guests to raise concerns promptly so they can be resolved during the stay.
Arrived near midnight. Host messaged the lockbox with key would be on iron bike rack n front of Church next door. NOMENTAL BIKE RACK!! Finally found lockbox on low garden fence around tree. Key to apt was a 10 minute sticky struggle to open every time for 8 days. Reported to host. NO HELP FROM HER ALL WEEK. Microwave and dishwasher had NO POWER. Glass shower doors were off rails and too dangerous to take showers. HOST SUGGESTED WE NOT TAKE SHOWERS. TOO UNSAFE. No batteries in Tv remote, toilet paper for one day, no closet to hang clothes BUT clothes hangers supplied. No instructions for garbage takeout. Host responsive to our messages to say she would send help BUT HELP NEVER CAME. Reported situation to VRBO. DO NOT STAY HERE. My sister and I were here 8 days with no help with the key problem and kitchen. I REQUESTED MY MONEY BACK.

Thank you for your feedback. We respectfully disagree with how the situation has been presented and would like to clarify several points.
Clear self-check-in instructions, including photos, were provided in advance showing the exact lockbox location. The lockbox was accessible and successfully used for check-in. Regarding the apartment key, we responded to your message and offered assistance; however, no follow-up was requested for a key replacement during the stay.
No safety issue with the shower doors was reported to us during your stay in a way that indicated they were unusable. Had we been informed that they were unsafe, we would have arranged immediate assistance. Suggesting caution is not the same as advising guests not to shower.
The apartment is stocked according to the listing description, including starter supplies such as toilet paper, and additional supplies can always be requested. Closet configuration and storage are accurately shown in the listing photos. Garbage instructions are included in the house manual provided before arrival.
We were responsive throughout your stay and repeatedly communicated our willingness to help. Unfortunately, despite staying the full 8 days, no resolution was accepted or coordinated on-site. Refund requests are reviewed in line with VRBO policies and the fact that the apartment was fully occupied for the duration of the reservation.
We regret that the stay did not meet your expectations, but we do not agree with the claim that there was “no help” or that the listing was misrepresented.
