About the host
Hosted by Lee Ann Pepper

Welcome to Calico Springs Farm! We are Daryl and Lee Ann Pepper. We live right up the hill. Daryl’s family has owned this property since the early 1970s.
Raised in Elizabethtown, Daryl’s roots run deep here. He can usually network to connect you to anything local. Lee Ann is a transplant from Eastern Kentucky, but she is happy for her children and grandchildren to make core memories connected to this farm. Having a sense of place and belonging matters to us.
We have been in ministry for the past 32 years, and we love providing this peaceful place for families and individuals to find rest for their souls. We seek to create a culture of rest and restoration where story and song can flourish. We love hosting gatherings of all kinds.
Feel free to reach out with any questions.

What makes this property unique
The original deed records a home and farm being here in 1885. Daryl’s parents, David and Alice Pepper, purchased the initial 50 acres in 1973. It included a white wood siding 1 ½ story home (pictured in a painting in this cabin) and the tobacco barn that is still in use. “The Farm” is where Daryl, his brother David R, and father grew tobacco. Other parcels were added and the land now includes almost 150 acres.
The home was used as a rental until it was simply beyond repair. In 2008, the old home was torn down & this cabin was built. Daryl & Lee Ann lived here with 2 of their 4 kids while building their home on the hill in 2017-18 where the tobacco patch existed.
Our kids called this the “hundred acre woods” when growing up (think Winnie the Pooh), and it is used for family gatherings, birthday parties, special events, church gatherings, hayrides, a place for church and non-profit planning meetings, and as a place of solace for many souls.
