Escape to this picturesque Queen Anne Victorian house on the National Historic Register at over 150 years old. This is the JJ McAlester House, founder of the Town of McAlester, which blends classic architectural styling with all the modern conveniences that you are looking for in a family/group retreat or a romantic getaway for couples.

This gorgeous property has been completely renovated over the years and boasts 4 comfortable bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There is space to sleep 12 adults comfortably. Bedrooms include One (1) King Bedroom, One (1) Queen Bedroom, a third bedroom with two (2) Full Beds, and a Bunk room with four beds-including one (1) Bunk Bed (twin beds), one (1) full bed, and a one (1) trundle single bed that pulls out from under the full bed. Additional sleeping options include a sofa-bed in one of the living rooms.

Entertainment and Relaxation Areas

Guests will feel right at home with high speed wi-fi and televisions in each of the bedrooms, along with 70+ inch televisions in the two living areas (YoutubeTV, and Disney+/Hulu/ESPN bundle throughout the house). Central heat and air, laundry room, and game room with pool table, classic arcade games, and dart board. Read a book or enjoy company out on the expansive wrap around porch area, take a stroll out on the 2 acre grounds, play a tune on the Grand Piano, or spend your time cooking a gourmet meal in the spacious kitchen with modern appliances, including a double oven.

There is plenty of parking on the gravel circle drive for all guests.

Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Leave used beds unmade so that housekeeping knows what beds were used and which bed linens need to be washed and changed.
Put towels in the washing machine and turn it on.
Return the house keys to the lock box, and turn the dials so that the keys are secure.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

We were a group of 6 friends on a girls getaway. The home is lovely and the beds comfortable. There are several tables and two rooms with comfortable couches/chairs. The home is historic however the bathrooms are updated which is a plus! There is one bedroom downstairs and 3 upstairs. The hosts were very responsive and helpful when contacted. The home was clean and prepared for us when we arrived. A notebook was left giving information about the house and locations for restaurants and shops. There were a couple restaurants /shops nearby and antique stores a block away. People in these places were very friendly. This home was perfect for us …allowing old friends who live in several different states/cities to gather in a nice setting. We plan to return.

There were 7 of us in our group, ranging from ages 15 months to 65 years. We all had plenty of space to spend time together, or find a quiet spot to relax. The nearby shops and the home itself felt like stepping back in time-yet with all the modern amenities and technology. This home is beautiful!

We loved our stay. Beautiful historic home. Perfect setting for our extended family gathering. Lots of spaces to sit and visit, plus a room and toys just for the kids. The house was spotless, had all of the basic necessities and a few nice extra touches, like coffee and creamer and some bottled drinks. It was very welcoming. The beds and bedding were comfortable and having a first floor bedroom was perfect for our guests that struggled with stairs. Hosts were friendly and communication was clear and prompt. We’d stay again for sure!
