The property is gorgeous. Had everything we needed and was in walking distance from old port side of Portland. We enjoyed a ton of great places to eat. Highly recommend.
I couldn’t have imagined a better place to stay for our 4- night family vacation to Portland. It was on a relatively quiet street, a quick walk to Congress for restaurants and the Museum. Our stay included jaunts out to explore the coastal region, and then had an enjoyable place to return to. Kitchen was very well equipped. Much thanks for sharing your wonderful house!

Perfect!
The house was a unique way to enjoy Portland. It was within walking distance of just about everything and the street was adorable. It had all the charm of a historic home with all the modern amenities. Our family instantly felt comfortable! The owners left clear instructions for using washer and dryer, the kitchen, and the locks on the doors. She was also clear about what we could use, which I really appreciated. They have an amazing collections of games and a wonderful breakfast nook to play them in! I would recommend staying here and hope that we have the opportunity to do so again in the future.

Great Portland townhouse
This property has a well equipped kitchen, large dining room, living room with flat screen TV, and private back patio. It had plenty of space for our group of 3 couples. Downtown Portland, restaurants, and activities are within walking distance, yet the neighborhood is quaint and residential. This was a great base for our vacation and felt like home when we returned each evening.

Food for thought
Place is nice. There is 3 floors. 1st floor is lr, dr, kitchen. 2nd floor is a bedroom and a full bath. 3rd floor has 2 bedrooms 1 full bath.
Negatives-
No crib available; only mattress
Lots of stairs. Stairs are at an incline so it could be a challenge.
Grill - only 1/2 working
The place is not for someone that stays up past 8pm and wants to have a nice time during vacation- neighbors get annoyed at any type of noise- inside and outside.
Parking is a challenge unless you are the only guest.
One of the bathrooms is out in hallway
Bathtub a challenge for someone that has problems getting in/out of tubs with no handrails
Positives-
Within walking distance to anything around town.
Comfortable and homey place
Kitchen is well equipped.
Nice little patio

What a shame that the renter did not ask for a crib in their correspondence prior to arriving. Had they let us know they needed one, we could have easily set up a “real "crib or a pack and play. Our property manager would have been more than happy to accommodate had they let her know.
It is very true that, as described, our house is on 3 stories. Please be aware that the stairs do go up (and down, too!).
I am sorry that the grill was not working fully when this guest came. We have replaced the grill. It was working when we left and since no other guests mentioned that it did not work before they got there, unfortunately, we did not replace it until we also found out that it was not working correctly.
We DID hear from our neighbors about one instance in the nine weeks we were gone when they had to ask our renters to keep down the noise. I was not aware of which party it was until I received this review. For future guests, we must request that you not bring large and loud speakers to set up in our back yard to play music loudly. This is our home and people living nearby are our neighbors with families and work in the morning. You are welcome to have a nice time during your vacation in our home, but we ask that you take into consideration that this is a residential area and not everyone in the vicinity is on vacation.
Parking in our driveway is as it is described in our listing. There is off street parking on a first come first served basis. There is on street parking with restrictions during the week. There is street parking half a block away that has very few restrictions. There is also a parking garage 1.5 blocks away where there would be absolutely no challenge in finding a parking place.
The powder room in our house is in the front hall as it is in many homes.
There is and always has been an ADA approved handle in the 2nd floor bathroom which is mentioned in the description of the house as well as in the information left for all renters. It is a claw foot tub typical of the era in which our house was built. There is also another full bath on the third floor which has a standing shower which is easy to enter as well as a separate jacuzzi tub.

An e-commerce guru from upstate New York, a college instructor Colorado native, and a quintessential 16 year old Mainer, we love our life in Portland, but we love to travel, too!
Why they chose this property
We came to Portland on vacation from Washington, DC and never left. We immediately fell in love with the neighborhood and rented until we found the right house to buy to be in this location. We are close to everything downtown offers, but our street is tree-lined and neighborly.
What makes this property unique
For visitors, the location is excellent. The Old Port is about a mile away and there are many things to do, see and eat between here and there. The neighborhood is the perfect combination of residential and downtown living. Our backyard is cozy and comfortable. The house itself is roomy with plenty of space to spread out. (There are three good sized tables for eating, working, playing games). The kitchen is ready for you to enjoy meals in, including a lobster pot and all of the tools you need to crack them open! That said, you probably don't want to do a lot of baking on vacation ... but we have you covered. Famous Tandem bakery is right around the corner, Zu bakery is a short walk through the West End and the Holy Donut is just down the hill!
