Pushed up our vacation to June to coincide with family celebrations of anniversary, wedding and birthday. The owners were gracious to accommodate our dates. Thank you! This house is perfect for our family from accommodations, the yard/neighborhood to the beach. Until next year!!
The family is already talking about 2026 Beach house vacation! Being from Fairhaven originally makes the availability of Leeward Way extraordinarily special. The neighbors are friendly, and we help remove seaweed from the beach during the week. There are many restaurants, but we usually prefer bringing seafood to cook at the house.

So glad you got to enjoy the house, the beach, the seafood, the neighbors and even the seaweed!! Well maybe not enjoy the seaweed but thanks for helping with the removal!
Home was warm and welcoming, plenty of open space for family gathering and also little get aways for time alone all with an ocean view. Joyful time spent here, and we would love to return.
Can’t wait to go back next year! The home and location are perfect for our extended family vacation. Everything is clean, the kitchen is well supplied for cooking meals on site with enough seating inside and on the deck. The ocean view of the bay is perfect for pictures and memories. Thank you for a great vacation 2024.
House is well designed and suited our family perfect! With tables inside and outside plenty of room to spread out or stay together for meals and activities. Hoping to stay in summer 2024.
The layout of the house was great! It is 100 steps to the beach. The landlord was easy to work with and responsive.

Liked: Location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Check-in, communication
Views and water access is the best part.
Excellent location and beautiful views. Had difficulty contacting the property owner to get into the house. Overall cleanliness is lacking given the price you pay.

Lovely time
Our stay at this wonderful house delivered the same delights as last year: on the water, sunsets, outdoor living spaces, comfortable rooms and beds, well appointed kitchen, and quiet neighborhood. It was hard to leave the property other than to get groceries!
Time was spent doing what Donald P Leaver would want us to do, just by simply spending time together. We enjoyed a classic clam boil where the kitchen was amazing. We played crochet where the yard was way too fun to set this up the traditional way. This place was located directly across from downtown NB where our beloved Dad dedicated his work life to Com-electric..
This property was in a beautiful location, quiet and had and incredible view. The home was well kept and well supplied for all your needs, not to mention, it has so many fun aspects built right into it. We particularly enjoyed the shuttered windows that opened to look out upon the lower family room and allow fantastic air circulation to the upstairs. It was such a charming home. The only negatives we had were minor, such as it needs more comfortable dining chairs, as we spent many nights around the table sharing meals and playing family board games and the chairs were terrible. The only other comment would be to go through the kitchen drawers and replace some of the aged rusted utensils and kitchen accessories. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic place to vacation. I hope we get to rent again, we really enjoyed our stay.
My siblings and I wanted a long fall weekend with my mom in New England. This was the perfect place for us! The house was wonderful - had everything we needed. Plenty of space and you couldn't beat the location! Not only is it on the water, with amazing views and sunsets, but we were centrally located for all the places we wanted to visit. There were only 4 of us this time, but we already started talking about booking another trip here and bringing the kids.
The owner was also very responsive and included a lot of good information in the welcome letter.
I would highly recommend this rental!

Wonderful Rental!!
We just spent 2 excellent weeks here. House is equipped to the max. Sunsets on the massive deck were grand! Close to many things. Did a day trip to MV. Ventured to Hyannis( too crowded). Took the harbor cruise in New Bedford ( great!). Favorite was dinner tavern in Mattapoisett. What a charming town. The house has fun kayaks and croquet and bocce etc etc etc ! I would highly recommend this place.
We had a great time. The best thing about the property was that it was unlike most rentals because everything worked as described. I don't think even one item was a disappointment. It had good dishes, working utilities, good furniture, enough bathrooms, it was well-supplied with everything. We left some stuff behind to accomodate for stuff we used. the pictures were good and not deceptive. It could use AC, but being on the beach the need is less than elsewhere. Our hosts were nice and did not bother us, it was a very pleasant place to stay for a week and relax with the family. The beach is actually 100 feet away, but there were not other properties between the beach and the house and the place was very private.
Thanks, Don

Fabulous family vacation house
This house is perfect for a relaxing vacation with extended family. The views from the deck were so spectacular that some of us never made it to the beach. It WAS an unseasonably cool week which was fine with us but even on the 2 warmer days, there were always refreshing breezes and the house is designed to maximize cross ventilation. The open living space allowed us to fully experience the panoramic views from inside the house as well. My brother and sister-in-law loved the design so much that they are incorporating it into the house they are about to renovate. The best part for us is that we know the area so well because our mom is from New Bedford and we have lots of family in the area but we still felt like we were in a vacation destination and made some new discoveries (for example - Down the Hatch, a hopping little bar on West Island with live music and clam fritters like my Nana used to make). We come up every summer for our larger family reunion in N.B. and we would all love to stay at this house again!

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay experiencing the new and the familiar! It is a wonderful place to be with friends and family!
The location was very convenient to everything! The views are incomparable!! Panoramic views of the bay; just gorgeous. The only downfall was that the cleaning was lacking. Cobwebs everywhere; left over soap bars and containers in the showers as well as mold on the shower curtain. Woken up by the smoke alarm going off at 5 am found a spider inside that caused alarm to go off. Had two more instances of spiders one in my bed at 5:30 am and another dropping from the ceiling on me in the kitchen. Just think the cleaning crew needs a pep talk to get the place ready better. Towels were old and very worn. Also found the request to wash and dry linens and towels before the 10am checkout to be unrealistic.
