Part of the sought-after Holders Hill community, Holders Retreat offers an incredible resort-style setting for your group of 10. Stroll to the powdery sands of Paynes Bay Beach or stay in and enjoy 14,000 sq. ft. of lush grounds and pristine indoor/outdoor living spaces.

Holders Retreat is a resort-style experience that you don't have to share. Inside, this 5,500 sq. ft. residence boasts three self-contained suites. Spend the day together as a group, then retreat to your own private quarters, each with their own entrance, kitchen, dining area and outdoor spaces.

With this reservation you will have the entire property to yourself—all three suites. (Holder’s Retreat suites can also be booked individually when availability allows. Message us to inquire!)

Fantastic Experience

The property is great, clean and it's a secure neighborhood. The check in process is Awesome and Ashley was a great help. The only 2 minor caveats are that there was no body wash or shampoo/conditioner in the rooms and the pool was smaller than what was shown in the pictures. Other than that it was a great experience for all of us. Also, the closest beach is about a 15 minute walk.

The property was clean, comfortable and well equipped.

We had a family holiday using all three areas which are spacious and comfortable, the area is quiet. Rheama was available if we had any queries and was very helpful and professional organizing our travel and taxis. The walk down a steep hill to the main road and Paynes Beach is about 20 minutes, the buses are very regular up to Holetown and into Bridgetown. There is a local store 10 minutes walk up the hill and main shopping is in Holetown. I would recommend a starter pack of milk etc if arriving in the evening. Robin and Jerome were charming and very kind, New Year on Paynes Beach was fabulous. The only downside were the mozzies otherwise it was a great holiday.

Good layout for multi generational family

The property location is very convenient to beaches and many attractions if you have transportation. There are multiple units so ideal for families within families. However, our stay was impacted negatively by multiple issues indicating that the property is not maintained well. Fridge water leaks, dryer timer broken, toilet tank leaks, burnt out lights, mal-aligned door jams, shower taps that are jammed or fall off with use ... The list mounted every day and the property manager took days to respond and was unable to fix most deficiencies. The owner was responsive and stated he would find a way to compensate but this did not materialize. Overall, liked the space and location but disappointed with the stay.

In response to this review, we offer the following. Our sincere apologies that you were disappointed with your stay, and rightfully so. This just happened to be one of the times when everything that can go wrong went wrong. This is especially true since the property was thoroughly and specifically checked and prepared to receive guests prior to your visit. One lesson learned is that we will not have such a large number of guests stay for any period over a week. The intensity of the coming and going, and everyone doing everything all at once created a bigger challenge than we were prepared to handle. Regarding the untimely response of the property manager, she is normally our greatest asset, however she has recently been seriously ill and was not able to respond as timely as usual. We have hired a second manager to ensure that this does not happen again. As the owner we were responsive and willing to make concessions. However the guest request was a bit overreaching requesting 3 days free stay for11 guests. As a small business and property owner we were not able to accommodate that request. Currently, all of the items have been replaced or repaired and everything is back in good order for us to welcome guests and be of great service during your stay with us in beautiful Barbados. We first came to Barbados 8 years ago, at the urging of a dear friend, and immediately fell in love with the island's beautiful people, diverse and accessible beaches, and endless options for things to see and do. We loved it so much we came 3 more times that very same year!
On our 10th visit to Barbados, we discovered this wonderful property. We knew right away that we could turn it into an exceptional home away from home for ourselves and others who travel here. All are welcome at Holders Retreat, which we designed to be flexible, warm, intimate and inviting—the perfect place to reconnect. It was important to us to create a functional space that also allowed for privacy, as well, so that even larger group holidays could include moments of quiet serenity.
In the end, people are what make Holders Retreat a special place, from the Bajan people who provide their services, to you, our guests, who we hope will make a lifetime's worth of memories here on our island in the sun.

We love this area of Barbados because there are a range of activities to suit everyone. Between the pristine beaches, tropical wildlife, international sporting events, world-class golf courses, delicious dining and a rich local culture, this neighborhood has it all!
Paynes Bay Beach, the postcard-perfect beach of your daydreams, is a 15-minute downhill stroll from Holders Retreat. Also called "The Platinum Coast," many locals consider this to be the best beach on the island. Also within a 15-minute stroll is Daphne's, The Cliff Beach Club, and an exciting mix of trendy bars like Scarlet and 1837. Holetown and Limegrove Lifestyle Center are less than a mile away, where you will find more restaurants, bars, duty-free shopping, a large supermarket, and banks.

To the east is the Green Monkey, Sandy Lane’s most exclusive golf course; to the west, the Holders Polo Club, the first of its kind in Barbados and one of the most prestigious polo clubs in the Caribbean.

If you are in Barbados on a Sunday, we recommend you check out the delightful Holders Farmers Market, set on the grounds of the historic Holders Plantation House. Select from local art, crafts, and food to take home to your kitchens.
