The Neighborhood:
Welcome to life on Cottonwood Road, just south of downtown Bozeman—where open skies, mountain views, and peaceful farmland surround you. The Bozeman Farmstead sits on a private property, offering a secluded, quiet escape while still being close to everything you need.
You’ll feel like you’re out in the country, yet you’re just:
12 minutes to downtown Bozeman for dining, shopping, and breweries
20 minutes to Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport
30 minutes to Bridger Bowl Ski Area
1 hour 30 minutes to Yellowstone National Park (North Entrance)
1 hour 15 minutes to Big Sky Resort
As part of this private and peaceful property, you’ll notice a charming guest house next door. A long-term renter lives there, she’s wonderful and respectful of guests. You might also spot her two friendly dogs roaming around. Be sure to say hi if you cross paths, they’re part of what makes this place feel so special and welcoming.
This location offers the best of both worlds: peaceful Montana living with easy access to adventure. Whether you’re heading into the mountains or soaking in the views from the deck, this spot truly captures the essence of Bozeman.
Getting Around:
While The Bozeman Farmstead offers a peaceful, tucked-away setting, getting around is simple with a car. We’re just a short drive to all of Bozeman’s highlights, so we do recommend guests bring or rent a vehicle during their stay.
Here’s a quick look at drive times:
12 minutes to Downtown Bozeman
20 minutes to Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport
30 minutes to Bridger Bowl Ski Area
1 hour 15 minutes to Big Sky Resort
1 hour 30 minutes to Yellowstone National Park (North Entrance)
In the warmer months, enjoy scenic drives through rolling farmland with views of the Bridger Mountains. In the winter, road access remains convenient, but 4WD or AWD is always encouraged. Taxis and ride share options like Uber and Lyft are available but can be limited depending on time of day or weather, especially outside city limits.
Once you’re here, you’ll love how easy it is to explore while still feeling totally removed from the hustle.
Other Things to Note:
This is a charming older farmhouse, and with that comes a little character—including a few quirks! While it’s been lovingly maintained, some finishes and furnishings reflect its age, giving it that authentic, lived-in Montana feel we adore.
The private pond on the property is great for paddleboarding and catch-and-release fishing, but it’s a natural body of water—so you’ll notice algae and some weedy areas. It’s not ideal for swimming, but it's peaceful and perfect for relaxing by the water.
Please note there’s no central air conditioning in the home. However, we provide fans in every bedroom, and the best way to keep the house cool is to open windows at night to let in the crisp Montana air, then close the blinds and shades during the day to keep the heat out. It’s a tried-and-true Bozeman trick that works well throughout the summer!
If you’re looking for a peaceful, laid-back stay surrounded by nature, this is the perfect spot—just embrace the charm, quirks, and slower pace of farmstead life.
