VILLA POMME D'AMOUR MARIGOT BAY Upper level 2 bedroom apartment

Villa Pomme d'Amour is situated in the Southern ridge of Marigot Bay. The property is composed of 2 villas, nestled high on the ridge, surrounded by nature and the views of the pool and our tropical gardens, a mountainside brimming with birds. Overlooking the Caribbean ocean.

The apartment in this ad is the upper level of the guest house (left side on photos) and is composed of two bedrooms with Queen size beds, a bathroom with shower, a kitchen and living room. The kitchen and living room open up with wide louver doors onto a private private veranda for your meals and leisure time.

The property has private parking and the villas are down a long staircase, into the valley. It offers use of WiFi and access to a laundry service.
Arrival can either be by taxi (that we can book for you) or by rental car. A rental car is recommended, as there are so many places to discover and great beaches to explore.

On arrival, you will receive a Caribbean Blue Gift Box of essentials.

Grocery stores are near by and you request your taxi to stop on your way to Villa Pomme d'Amour. Since some arrivals are late in the day, for your first morning here, I provide some breakfast items.

As owner, I live on the property and are always available to help you with your planning and discovery of St Lucia.

A 10 minute walk or very short car ride, brings you down in the bay for another beach and water sports, such as kayaking, paddle-boarding, sailing, water taxis and more, also several restaurants and little bars.

St-Lucia is an island of great beauty with its endless rainforest for hiking and great beaches, lovely waterfalls, zip-lines, horseback-riding in the surf, snorkelling and scuba diving, sailing, beautiful waterfalls with basins to swim in, climbing of Gros Piton in the Soufriere (volcano region) , visits to plantations and much more...

Be aware that security cameras are installed for everyone safety: 3 camera in the parking lot area, 1 at the entrance to the rental unit, 1 overlooking pool area, and 3 cameras at host's personal home located on the property.

Safe, beautiful place at Marigot Bay

This was our second stay at Villa Pomme D'Amour. We went last year and liked it so much that we came back again this March. Arnold is the best host, very helpful and friendly. We particularly like the pool, sitting on the porch, gazing at the ocean. The place is with in easy walking distance to several restaurants and the beach.

Beautiful Villa

Our family of 4 was on a celebration trip for our youngest daughter's HS graduation. The Villa was beautiful and our host was amazing and helpful about all local places and things to do on the Island. We hope to visit again and we would definitely stay at Villa Pomme d'amour.

Wonderful villa!

Great location and wonderful host! Arnold was so helpful and accommodating with suggestions and reservations. He was always available to answer questions. We stayed for 10 days and explored Marigot Bay and the island as well as just relaxing at the villa. Great vacation!

Peaceful stay in a secluded spot.

This is a very comfortable and quiet place to stay. Evenings listening to the crickets was so very pleasant. The kitchen is quite small, but we were able to cook our own meals quite comfortably and eating outside under the verandah, in all weathers, was a particular treat. Thanks to the owner for sharing this place with us.

So beautiful and relaxing

Our family of 4 stayed a week in paradise! It really felt cozy and almost like home. We spent a lot of time in the pool and relaxing on the porch with great views when we weren't exploring St Lucia. We loved the walking trail to access the ocean and snorkeling. Arnold was an amazing host. He was always willing to answer questions and was incredibly accommodating. Highly recommend.

5 star hospitality, safe & affordable

Arnold personally greeted us and checked in with us throughout the week. Lots of space for our family of 4 and located centrally on the island if you have a rental car and want to explore the island more easily. Marigot Bay beachside itself is less impressive than some of the other beaches on the island. The villa is safe, relaxing and well-taken care of. It had everything we needed and access to supplies and laundry. Beautiful view and rainforest experience also. Would recommend this to others.

Tropical oasis

Villa Pomme D’amour is a beautiful oasis set in the hills of lovely Saint Lucia. We had such a great time enjoying the island, in part because of our wonderful time at the villa. The views from the porch are stunning, the pool was delicious and neighborhood feels safe and good for families. Arnold was the best host we’ve ever had - he is incredibly attentive, knowledgable and helpful arranging transportation, offering advice and giving recommendations of things to do and see. We’ll be recommending this charming stay to all of our friends back home.

Quiet spot with beautiful view

We stayed in the top floor of the two units and enjoyed the lovely views from the terrace. The kitchen was basic but everything worked well and the cooking pans were new and good quality. The pool was great though you need to be reasonably fit to manage the number of steps.Arnold was great. He explained everything about the property and the locality and made some really good recommendations. We managed without a car using local taxis but would probably hire a car next time - though you need to look into local rules if you’re over 65.Great location for a quiet break.

Beautiful setting, excellent host

Location is really great…. Private, small cove walkable down the hill, and outstanding, lush tropical views. Villa typical of small island facilities, well stocked with essentials. No A/C, which could make it a bit difficult to sleep, but the outside deck during evenings was wonderful and breezy. Host was great — couldn’t have been more helpful with arranging taxis and boat transportation for daytime excursions. We had a really great week. Sooo glad we stayed near Marigot Bay (middle of western side of island) ) as we were able to see the whole coast in 2 boat day trips; Sugar Beach up to Anse Couchon one day, then north up to Pidgeon Island and Rodney Bay another. These were the best things we did as the coast is indescribably beautiful. ❣️

Excellent Vacation

We had a fantastic 10-day vacation. I have not had a better host for a unit - Arnold is a great person - very helpful, kind, and generous. The units’s location on the island is very central, having a great view of a small cove., by which many ships pass, making great viewing from the balcony. The unit is not huge, but provides adequate space. My advice is to work on keeping it clean every day., and make sure that each trip to grocery store is not wasted. I agree that renting a car makes getting around the island much easier, as taxis and water taxis will quickly add up. However, as you will learn just from the drive from the airport, driving on this island is a non-stop adventure Even so, you will want to visit a variety of beaches and sites. I also suggest bringing a small spray bottle of insect repellent. Marigot Bay is a nice little town with several restaurants- not much in the way of nightlife, but there is plenty of that in the north. However, if you are looking at this location, then a relaxing, scenic setting is probably what you are after. Overall, a great trip on which I would return.

Une retraite agréable

Arnold, le propriétaire canadien, est très accueillant, il donne quelques conseils sur l'île, bavarde volontiers et peut vous vendre l'eau de source nécessaire et la bière locale. L'appartement où nous étions était agréable, avec une jolie vue sur la verdure et un coin de mer et une kitchenette bien équipée mais aussi un peu vétuste. Les ventilateurs sont très bruyants, et l'accès n'est pas facile, au bout d'un chemin défoncé qui monte très raide. Il n'y a pas de magasin d'alimentation digne de ce nom accessible à pied, les restaurants autour ne sont pas mauvais mais assez chers. Marigot bay est jolie mais la plage est moins belle que celles plus au sud et ce n'est pas évident de rayonner à partir de là.

Beautiful Views beside Marigot Bay

We had fantastic communication with the owner of the property leading up to our arriving on the island and our stay did not disappoint. Arnold went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable, he helped us with an in depth knowledge of the island and offered amazing suggestions of attractions and restaurants that became huge aspects and memories of our vacation. The villa was clean and as described. The secluded bay we had amazing views of was accessible by walking, and offered a great beach area and snorkeling. Arnold was fantastic to speak with and his excitement for his caretaking of the villa was contagious. We regret we didn't get a chance to meet the previous owners as they were also instrumental in our decision to stay at Villa Pomme D'amour, but wish them well in their new chapter. We would absolutely reccomend this property.

Celebrating our 30th

Overall, our week in St. Lucia was delightfull and we enjoyed the villa and Marigot Bay. Arnold was extremely helpful in pointing out the island's attractions and the best way to navigate to them since we had a rental car. Be aware that signage is very poor (almost non-existent)and most of the roads are strewn with potholes, larger than one would want to hit with a rental car. Upon arrival, Arnold met us and helped us with our luggage down the 40+ stairs to the villa. Since we had the upper villa, we then went back up another 12 stairs. The villa was very comfortable and clean and we loved opening the louver doors. The beautiful sounds of nature surrounded us throughout the day and night. The kitchen is small and a microwave would be a welcome addition as would air conditioning. The villa only has ceiling fans and and several floor fans to mitigate the heat and humidity. There are 2 ways to get to the cove and small beach: Arnold is in the process of clearing and opening the pathway which was overgrown when we visited in late Oct. 2022. It took us about 15 minutes to negotiate it. We took the roadway back up, which is longer but much less treacherous. Four restaurants that we enjoyed: Doolittles, Roots2, the Coal Pot, and the Pink Plantation where we had a delicious 30th Anniversary lunch.

A little slice of heaven!

From the second we stepped out of our car and walked down the stairs to Villa Pomme D'Amour, we were in complete awe of the beautiful estate. My husband and I stayed for a week in the upper level guest villa which immediately felt like a home away from home. The villa is so spacious, and the views from the deck are utterly breathtaking! In one direction you can see the pool with its surrounding flowers and plants, and in the other you see the secluded cove. The constant sound of the crashing waves was so peaceful. We watched gorgeous sunsets from that balcony as well as the tree house (which is also strung with lights so you can sit out there after dark too!). Although the natural beauty of Marigot Bay makes Villa Pomme D'Amour very inviting, we agreed that the real magic was from our hosts Josee and Pierre. They are so warm, caring, and friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure that every need was met during our stay. They provided breakfast our first day, and Josee sat down with us and helped us plan out all our excursions for the week. They both know the island so well that no matter where we were going, they always had the BEST recommendations for tours, beaches, and restaurants! St. Lucia is a gorgeous island but if you want to truly experience its tranquility and magic, you have to stay at Villa Pomme D'Amour!

Gracious hosts and hidden beauty

Josee and Pierre were fantastic hosts. They made sure we had everything we needed, gave us directions to local spots/excursions and were wonderful company! The villa was perfect for us and the Marigot Bay Area is beautiful. The property has a walking path to a small secluded beach, nearby is a grocery store, gas station, and restaurants. We highly recommend Villa Pomme D’Amour for those wanting a beautiful property away from the hustle and bustle and who love adventure.

Peaceful, private and stunning apartments

Josee and Pierre are incredible hosts, we've never experienced anything like it before. From the airport lift, welcome drinks and snacks right up until the goodbyes at end of our trip we felt like we were staying with dear friends. Josee helped us plan our day trips and made sure we had everything we needed from a hire car to beach towels. The beautiful villas are really clean and comfortable with a lovely outside dining area for watching the amazing sunset over the little private bay. The friendly birds will come and join in with meals! Open doors, windows and fans provide enough breeze so no air conditioning is needed. Our teenage daughters loved cooling down in the fresh water swimming pool surrounded by flowers, geckos, hummingbirds and Bernard the hermit crab who Pierre introduced us to. Marigot Bay is a short distance away with its restaurants and beach bars. We ate at Masala Bay Indian restaurant a couple of times because we loved it so much! There's also a small supermarket and bank - we suggest getting plenty of Eastern Caribbean Dollars before you arrive in St Lucia because the ATM often runs out. Our favourite activity was the short walk down to the beach at the bottom of the property to snorkel and search for shells. We saw some brilliant fish! Josee also organised a sea taxi for the day which was a fantastic way to get to know the west coast. We would recommend staying here to everyone and hope to return again one day to see our new Caribbean friends and Jax the gorgeous Doberman. Thank you so much for a wonderful holiday!

Everything as advertised and more!

• Was the listing description accurate regarding the location, layout, amenities, etc? Josee and Pierre delivered everything as advertised in their listing, then they took it to the next level with their welcoming and helpful presence. Staying with them at Villa Pomme D’Amour is like visiting family. The villa is comfortably furnished and very clean. The kitchen is well equipped. The views are beautiful. The villa has access to a private cove with a nice beach and snorkeling located a few minutes’ walk down a trail from the villa. • Was the property clean and well-maintained? The property is immaculately maintained and cleaned. Not only does Josee and Pierre work tirelessly to keep up with cleanliness and maintenance, but they also have a groundskeeper and a housekeeper that came several time while we stayed to ensure everything was in tip top shape. Our apartment was cleaned twice while we were there. • Did the owner or manager provide good customer service? Most definitely yes! Josee and Pierre are the most gracias hosts and go to great lengths to ensure all of your needs are met and that everything is in tip top shape. • Would you recommend this property to a friend or relative? Most definitely yes! • What activities, attractions and restaurants did you enjoy? Best restaurant in Marigot Bay is the Hurricane Hole; breakfast lunch and dinner are excellent. Also check out Doolittle’s (take a free ferry to get to this one). Its part of the Marigot Beach Club & Dive Resort. In Castries – shopping. Lunch, go to The Coal Pot Restaurant. Zip line, Hike, and Gondola Tour – Rainforest Adventures Day Sail – Bateau Mygo; Pitons, snorkeling, beaches, swimming, lunch provided (don’t pay extra for the land excursion) Pigeon Island – Fort Rodney Historic site, hike and a bit of climbing. Great Views! Jambe De Bois Restaurant and Bar Tet Paul Nature Trail – Hiking, great views of the Inner Island and Pitons. While here stop by Boucan Hotel Chocolat for lunch. There is a decent Massey’s grocery store nearby so you can stock up your food and provisions for your stay.

Why they chose this property

After one visit to St Lucia, I knew it was a good place to be. When the opportunity came to take over Villa Pomme d'Amour, I embarked on a new adventure. I had met and became friends with the original owners, Pierre and Josee, who created Villa Pomme d'Amour and defined a formula to making this villa a successful and desirable destination for their many guests. Villas Pomme d'Amour sits in a wonderful valley in the central Caribbean coast side of St. Lucia.
