The house was perfect for us, only a few minutes from the people we were visiting. It’s in a very quiet neighborhood. The interior was spotless and having laundry facilities was a definite plus. Because of the heat, we didn’t take advantage of the patio area, but the back door exterior and window needs some of the attention paid to the inside. A dust storm while we were there made things worse, so I get that it’s hard to keep clean. Previous reviews were critical of the “well-stocked kitchen,” so I came prepared with things we didn’t need. However, there were no ice cube trays!! 115 heat and no ice cube trays! And guess what—Dollar Tree didn’t have any either! If I bought some, I planned to leave them there but we ended up McGyvering it. The heating/cooing system is a bit inconsistent with a swamp cooler and AC, but we managed with extra blankets in some rooms and ceiling fans in others. Besides ice cube trays, I suggest leaving a broom and dustpan as the vacuum cleaner does not have the and extension, at least not that we could find. Shampoo, etc. are provided, which is a real plus, especially for those traveling by air. All-in-all, I definitely recommend this place and we will use it again if the need arises. Very spacious and super clean. Did I mention how clean it is? SO appreciated after other places I’ve stayed, even pricey resorts.
The house looked mostly as pictured, kept us cool from the heat, was tidy, and generally clean. The neighborhood was quiet and provided quick access to the highway, etc; my wife felt safe taking walks at night. David was also pretty responsive to messages on Vrbo and was helpful in addressing a couple issues that came up. Our kids really enjoyed playing outside in the fully fenced back yard.However:- Many lights or fixtures were inoperative (one bedroom was initially completely dark--which David had a handyman repair during our stay); some outlets, too- There was no way to adjust the ceiling fan speed in the living room (stuck on high) or turn on its light- Extra towels were offered, but they never came; eventually I found more in the dryer- The dishwasher's lower spray arm was missing, so all bowls/etc needed to go on the top, and silverware didn't always get clean- "Fully equipped kitchen" is a stretch -- it had some saucepans/skillets, cooking utensils, and aluminum foil, but no oil, spices, baking sheets- The dining room rug smelled mildly like pet urine
The whole experience was exceptional. The house was just as expected. Very clean and comfortable. Tempe is a wonderful place to stay and explore. Would go again!
