Lovely cabin was the perfect spot for our family get together to enjoy hiking and the beautiful outdoors. Well furnished and stocked, beautiful views, peacefully tucked away on 6 acres. Much better than all the tourist traps. We would definitely stay again!
The cabin was fantastic! We loved the outdoor seating and enjoyed the views. It was quiet, relaxing and a great spot to stay while visiting the Tetons and Yellowstone. The kitchen is equipped with all you need and plenty of space available for our family of 5. Ginger was great at communicating all the info we needed.
Nice old school cabin, about an hour from Jackson. Secluded, pretty.

The property owner has the cabin super clean, fully stocked, and is easy to get a hold of if need be. Had an amazing time. Great location, traveled to Yellowstone, Teton Mountains, Jackson Hole, Big Sky Montana, Victor, and Driggs. All fairly easy to get to made this cabin a great location away from people and noise!
The only problem we had with our schedule vacation activities was the pass to Jackson was out and we had to make the 2.5 hr trip each way 9 times.

The Teton Pass road to Jackson will open on Friday... amazing 3 week repair by local teams working 24/7. Glad we talked and you found the beautiful alternate route through Swan Valley - a little longer, but sooo beautiful.
This cabin was everything we’d hoped for, for our Yellowstone adventure. Located squarely between the park and Jackson Hole, we were able to travel to both for excursions. The cabin was spacious, homey, and well stocked. The views were breathtaking and the horses in the pasture next door were a lovely bonus. Highly recommend!
Very nice accommodations near the Tetons! It was wonderful to come home after a long day hiking to relax in this lovely VRBO location. Everything we needed was provided. The water (from drinking to hot water for showers) was great….adding that cause I am kind of picky about water.
Everything about this property from the advertisement, to booking, checking in and the complete stay was absolutely AMAZING! We would definitely recommend and visit again!

Thank you for a lovely stay at your home. We enjoyed the quiet location and watching the horses in the field. The place was clean and we found everything we needed while we were there. Thanks again!
We stayed at this place as a go between Yellowstone and Grand Teton. We were up at the crack of dawn and home after dark but it was a great place to call home base. There was some necessary work being done / finished in the back of the property that most likely brought some ants into the home to get away from the water but as the week went on we saw less and less of them. This was a great house for our family of four.

Glad you had a good time. Yes, we had just completed a new septic field. Also, we have hired a pest service to check everywhere.
The cabin was absolutely perfect! It was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We had everything we needed plus more. Ginger is a wonderful host. Of course, the scenery was awe-inspiring! We felt very secluded surrounded by nature and wildlife but it was an easy fifteen minute drive to Driggs where we could find groceries, gas, and great restaurants. We loved it all!
The cabin is comfortable, airy, and spacious. Our family of 5 stayed but the property could have easily accommodated a larger family. The area is very private on a hill in the Teton mountain foothills and has forested areas on three sides, with an amazing view of mountains and a pasture valley on the fourth side. The cabin had all amenities provided. The grocery stores in Tetonia and Driggs are a few miles away, but it is a very easy drive to pick up supplies in the nearby towns. The entire area is less chaotic than Jackson and staying here was very relaxing. I highly recommend this property.
We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Almost everything we needed was readily available and the cabin was very clean. The property says 6 acres yet we had no idea where so no exploring was done on the property. The location was great for all the different places we traveled to visit. Lots of board games were available well as an Xbox for my teens. If you are not use to the dry air be sure to boil a pot of water.
I will say the hot and cold were opposite of most showers in the downstairs bathroom and a curtain over the door to the back bedroom would have been nice to have.
Overall, we enjoyed staying at the propriety surrounded by trees and it’s about 50 min to 1hr to Jackson. The cabin is pretty and we enjoyed the privacy we had. One thing that we did not like was the 15 items check out instructions including “wipe down the counters” “start dishwasher,” and “take out the trash to the trash cans at the end of the street” (could not really see any). It just does not justify the steep cleaning fee that we paid for a 3 day stay. We are always respectful of people’s proprieties (we are owners ourselves) and leave a clean place but 15 items check out instructions are a little much for people who just want to enjoy vacation.

Glad you enjoyed the cabin and thanks for the help cleaning. We only charge our guests half the actual cleaning fee, yes, cleaning in these times of covid is expensive. It takes 4 hours just to do all the laundry sheets and towels. Happy Fall!!! Stay longer next time!
Location is scenic and secluded with lovely sunsets. Room descriptions in listing are not correct. Bedroom 1 is a queen (upstairs), "Bedroom 2" is a queen (upstairs--in quotes because it is a loft open to main level not really a room), Bedroom 3 has two twins (main level), Bedroom4/Office has one twin (main level).
Great Home Base for exploring Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks
The cabin was located outside of the town of Driggs, ID. The cabin is beautiful and was great for our family of 4. The cabin is well stocked with anything you will need. The town of Driggs has some great restaurants, a brewery and distillery that we enjoyed. We made a trip to Yellowstone National Park (approx. 1 1/2 hours away) and made a few trips to Jackson (approx 45 minutes away). There are a number of hiking trails accessible from the west side of the Teton range that we explored. Ginger was great in her communication and made herself available if we encountered any issues. We had none but I am sure her responses would have been quick.
We had a great family mtn bike trip at Grand Targhee and loved coming home to this sweet cabin in the aspens. Ginger and Jim were great hosts and full of good recommendations.
It was even more beautiful of a location than the pictures can capture. It was such a sweet time together as a family. This home had such warmth and was a perfect hub for hitting trails, enjoying a few of the towns in the area, and being immersed in the Tetons. Thank you for opening your home to us - so many great memories were made! We hope to get back again one day.

About the host
Hosted by Ginger Howard
We bought this cabin in 2001 as a vacation getaway for family and friends. We started ColterCabins soon after. We grew up in Cincinnati; Jim worked for Jones Lang LaSalle managing real estate, and Ginger taught Montessori. We spend lots of family time here in this corner of Idaho, Wyoming, Yellowstone, and the Grand Tetons. Our family love to hike, ski, kayak and cook big dinners for family and friends.
Why they chose this property
This area of Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana is just gorgeous. There are so many beautiful areas to visit – mountains, waterfalls, rivers, fields of wildflowers throughout the summer, and great snow all winter. We are 80 minutes from Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons - both wonderful day trips. You will want to be outdoors every day of your stay! Late spring is the best time to see the animals with their new offspring, and October brings the spectacular golden "quaking" leaves on the aspen trees.
What makes this property unique
This cabin is an often-used family cabin. We have games and cards and lots of excellent cooking equipment, cake pans, pie plates, waffle maker and pancake griddle - and spices in the kitchen. Beds are super comfy with blankets comforters and quilts. There is a Canon printer, badminton net, two decks in the trees with big cushioned sofa and chairs, outdoor dining table and picnic table. We love the quiet, beautiful views of sunrise and sunset over the ranch land and Big Hole Mountains. We have local maps and books, and even bedtime books for the little ones.
