About this property
NEW! August House | Deepwell Midcentury Pool/Views
*30-day stays only until short-term permit is approved*
Some homes just feel right. August House is one of them. It’s where you come to pause. To reconnect. To exhale. Intentional, and deeply restorative, it is designed to help you reset. Whether you’re here for quiet mornings, sunset swims, or long dinners under the stars, August House is ready for you.
Originally built in 1955, this mid-century modern gem has been thoughtfully reimagined with a designer’s touch—preserving its architectural soul while layering in contemporary comfort, lush natural surroundings, and seamless indoor-outdoor living.
LAYOUT & LIVING SPACES
From the moment you walk in, the mood is effortlessly serene. Light pours through floor-to-ceiling glass sliders, and the openness invites you to breathe deeper. The airy floor plan, chef’s kitchen, and flexible gathering spaces are designed for both togetherness and quiet reflection.
The living room invites connection with its cozy gas fireplace, curated mid-century décor, and expansive sliders framing both sunrise and sunset. On either side, water features create a tranquil soundscape, carrying the feeling of a spa throughout the home.
The chef’s kitchen is a true centerpiece:
* Massive soapstone island
* Wolf gas range
* Subzero refrigerator
* Wine fridge
* Breville Coffee Maker
* Fellow Kettle
* Cuisinart Toaster Oven
* Deep stainless sink
* Fully stocked for long-term stays
Whether you’re making morning espresso, mixing cocktails from citrus garden ingredients, or hosting a multi-course dinner, this kitchen is built for gathering.
BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS
August House is arranged for maximum privacy and comfort.
* Poolside King Suite: Direct pool access, desk, flatscreen TV, walk-in closet, ensuite bath with European deep soaking tub (with handheld wand), bidet, retro vanity, and luxury linens.
* Palm King Suite: Direct pool access, desk, flatscreen TV, ensuite bath with tiled glass shower, luxury linens.
* Grove Queen Room: Private patio entrance to a citrus garden with mango, lime, grapefruit, kumquat, and mandarin trees. TV, closet, and private door into the shared guest bath with walk-in shower.
All bedrooms open to private outdoor spaces, allowing each guest to enjoy both connection and solitude.
OUTDOOR LIVING REIMAGINED
At August House, easy outdoor living is seamless with two walls of sliding glass doors that dissolve the line between indoors and out, making the backyard an extension of the living room.
Tongue-and-groove ceilings, two intimate seating areas, and two dining spaces make it easy to live outside day and night. Spend your days lounging beneath the large patio, cooled by ceiling fans and shaded by the home’s breezy design.
POOL & SPA
* Float in the classic Palm Springs pool or soak in the spa while counting palm trees or watching the sun set behind the mountains.
* Firepit Lounge: Gather for stargazing and nightcaps, with citrus- and herb-infused cocktails from the garden.
* Outdoor Cooking: Fire up the Ooni pizza oven for game night, or use the 4-burner Weber BBQ for al fresco dinners. This home was made for long conversations.
* Garden Strolls: Meander through 10 citrus trees and raised herb beds, where the scent of orange blossoms meets desert air.
* At night, the silence is almost cinematic—just the desert breeze through the palms, the water features, and the occasional hoot of an owl overhead.
At August House, there’s something profoundly calming about this space, whether you're sunbathing with a book or simply letting the day unfold slowly. The pace slows, the light softens, and there’s space to just be. Whether you’re gathering connect, celebrating a milestone, or simply seeking a reset, you’ll leave with the feeling you were meant to find here.
AREA
August House is nestled on a spacious corner lot in historic Deepwell. GOOD TO KNOW

* Smoking of any type is not permitted on the property
* This is a quiet home in a peaceful neighborhood, it is not a party house, no events are allowed.

We choose to keep it separate to give you the choice of whether to opt in or not. The fee is $100 per day November through May, much lower May and September. No heat is needed in the summer months. When a fee is paid pools are heated to a max temp of 86 degrees (80-86 is normal). This fee is taxable at 12.5%. Happy to answer any questions.

About the host
Hosted by Lauren Brandt

From the moment I first walked into August House, I felt something shift. The energy was calm, open, and deeply grounding, I got goosebumps. This house became a place of healing and restoration for me, and I designed every inch of it to be both nourishing and welcoming, whether you’re cooking with friends, relaxing by the pool, or simply needing space to breathe.
The layout is wide open, with large sliding glass doors at both the front and back of the house that fill the space with desert light and blur the line between indoors and out. The open kitchen and living area are the heart of the home, featuring a massive island perfect for cooking while others gather, chat, and pour wine. It’s a chef’s dream and a host’s paradise.
You’ll find three raised beds and an unexpected citrus grove: key lime, mango, grapefruit, kumquat, mandarin and others, all growing in harmony.
Out back, the pool area is styled like an outdoor living room. Tongue-and-groove ceilings, two intimate seating areas, and two dining spaces make it easy to live outside day and night. There’s also a spa, Ooni pizza oven, and Weber grill. Whether you’re unwinding or entertaining, everything is ready for you.
The house is located in Deepwell, one of Palm Springs’ most beloved neighborhoods. Quiet, charming, and rich with history, it’s the perfect base for relaxing days and desert adventures alike.
Whether you’re here to cook, gather, rest, or reset, August House was made for it. It was the perfect place for me to recharge. I hope it will be for you, too.

August House has two spacious primary bedrooms, each with ensuite bathrooms and sliding doors that open directly to the pool area. A third bedroom, once my private workout space, now serves as a full bedroom with its own ensuite and a private entrance leading to a patio garden. There, you’ll find three raised beds and an unexpected citrus grove: key lime, mango, grapefruit, kumquat, mandarin and others, all growing in harmony.
