Caitlin's wedding weekend

It was an excellant location for a wedding we attended at the Felt Mansion. Highly recommend if you have an event there, Had a pool dilema that was disappointing but an overall fantastic stay

Great house with a pool

We had a great time stay at Allegan Gardens. The owner was very responsive and helped us with all of our questions. The kitchen was well-supplied and the backyard is very nice. There were a few places for improvement : some koi ponds in the backyard that had stagnant water, which were a hazard to my pets . And also the wood steps by the entryway seemed to be unsafe from deteriorating wood. We used another entrance to be safe.Overall a really nice place to stay!

Roomy place in Saugatuck. Close enough to walk to town, but still far enough from hustle and bustle. Clean and had everything we needed.

So much room!

I will totally come back to stay again. Everything was provided and simple to access. Comfortable beds, easy access to town, and the pool was a hit with the kids. It was very home-like and cozy.

Lovely Weekend Stay

Beautiful property, well stocked and decorated. Could use a deep clean inside and out. Not surprising given that the property is dog friendly and it’s the end of the season. Some more lighting in the backyard would be helpful from a safety standpoint.

Allegan Gardens

We enjoyed our stay at Allegan Gardens. It was easy to access and check in and out of. The house was clean and our dog and five year old Inspected every corner ! Would love to return in the summer months. Only bummer was that it’s close to a freeway !

Beautiful home and gardens

We had a wonderful week here - it is one of the only houses in the greater area that has a heated pool and is close to town. Aaron was very friendly and prompt in responding to our communications. A drawback for us was that even though the home is close to Saugatuck, we didn’t find it walkable due to having to cross a 50 mph street - maybe not an issue for those who can run faster than we 😊, but probably good to know. Overall it is a delightful space inside and out.

Great newly renovated home perfect for some time away from the city!

My girlfriends and I recently spent a week at Allegan Gardens and cannot WAIT to go back later this summer! We spent the majority of our time out by the pool and barbecuing. The house is just a 10 minute walk from cute little shops, fabulous coffee and the lakes (Kalamazoo & Michigan). The neighborhood is also safe and perfect for an early morning and lat night run. The nearby restaurants are delicious! Wait staff is friendly, great food, wine (of course!) and reasonably priced. The house itself is amazing! The beds are super comfortable and I slept like a baby - it's just so quite up there! The entire house has been renovated, however it still has it's 1910 feel. The hardwood floors, kitchen counter tops, light fixtures and sparkling pool were perfect for our weekend there. One of my friends brought her dog, and had a great time belly-flopping into the pool to fetch a tennis ball. Allegan Gardens is a must for any group, friends or family looking for a newly renovated and secluded home for the week!

They had me at the with the coffee beans

Super homey, comfy feel to the entire place. They nailed it with the thoughtful things like a coffee bean grinder (with coffee beans!), basic cooking supplies, frosted steins in the freezer and dog treats! Great for people like us who are running late and don't shop ahead of time. The backyard is great. Although we could not use pool or firepit, I think those would be well used in a different season. Plenty of laying around room in living room/dining room area. And a lot of board games provided so we had a lot of fun playing some new games! It is the off-season so we really didn't spend much time in Saugatuck. Holland is a quick 15-20 drive so we could get there easily as well. Outside of the initial booking, there was no need to work with the owners. They provided pretty much everything we needed. Definitely would return in-season to get the full treatment!

My husband, two of our young adult daughters, our two dogs and I had a lovely stay at Allegan Gardens. The house is charming, and the owner has added so many details to make this feel like something more than just another vacation house rental. We really enjoyed the outdoor space and took full advantage of the pool, the grill, patio and fire pit area.It's a very short drive into downtown Saugutuck and all of its dining and shopping offerings, plus plenty of spots to sit by the river and watch the boats go by.All in all, just the relaxing stay we were looking for.

Great house!

First, I have to say this is the best appointed house I’ve ever stayed in through VRBO! They have everything you need! The house is large and beautifully decorated and was perfect for our girlfriend getaway. The beds were super comfy, as was the furniture in the living room. And plenty of room around the big farmhouse table in the dining room. It’s in a great location if you are exploring the area, easy to get anywhere from the house, very close to downtown Saugatuck. The owner was very communicative throughout the entire process. My only complaint in that department is that we didn’t find out until arriving that landscapers and the pool maintenance company are there on Tuesdays. Now, if we had booked the week, that wouldn’t be an issue. But we were only there two days. If we had known that in advance, we probably would have picked different days to be there. We really were planning on spending most of our time by the pool, catching up. It worked out, just would have been nice to know that in advance. Overall, a great place and we will be back.

If you are looking for a relaxing weekend away, look no further! We had a great time and would love to go back when it is a little warmer to see the gardens and use the pool. The hosts have really thought of everything you need. Beautiful home.

Spacious, Charming, and Dog-Friendly—A Perfect Stay in Saugatuck!

We had a wonderful stay at this charming 1910's home in Saugatuck! The house is full of character, beautifully maintained, and impressively spacious. It was spotless upon arrival, and we appreciated the thoughtful amenities that made our stay even more comfortable.One of the biggest highlights was that they welcomed dogs, which made it a perfect getaway for our whole family. The home is well-equipped with everything you need, and the combination of historical charm with modern conveniences makes for a fantastic experience.If you're looking for a clean, cozy, and pet-friendly home with plenty of space, this is definitely the place to stay! Comfort, convenience, privacy - just right

Wanted a few days away for quiet time, walkable waterfront, window shopping and outdoor space for our dog. We found it and really enjoyed our stay. Aaron (owner) was most communicative of any property owner we've known so far; very helpful especially when navigating a road construction necessitated drive-around to get to the property (only added 7 minutes). Plenty of room so we might have a future family/SO's stayover in the future. Would love to stay when warmer, sunnier weather prevails and grounds are in their fully glory. Highly recommend.

Another great vacation

We have stayed at Allegan Gardens for several years now, and it is always great. Close to town, but very private. Our family always enjoys the pool. The host is easily reached if we need anything, and his response time is quick. It is a great place to stay with our children and our grandchildren.
