Myrtle Cottage is a private guesthouse on 40 acres featuring lovely gardens, abound with local trees such as Live Oaks, Magnolia's, Pines and vintage Beech Trees and a fishing pond with Pirch and Bass. Wooded trails lead to the bluffs giving access to a picturesque white sandy beach on the Little Tchefuncte River. A paradise for bird watchers and enthusiasts of local wild life.

Thank you Bobbie for the amazing hospitality. She pointed us in the right direction for great food around the area, had some really good treats for us, and gave us a quick history lesson. The house was perfectly clean and we really enjoyed our stay.

Amazing Experience

Bobbie and her piece of heaven were amazing. We stayed for two days after a cruise before heading home and it was perfect spot to unwind. Bobbie was an amazing host and took great care of us during our stay. We plan to come back soon.

Great getaway

Cottage was beautifully furnished, clean, and comfortable. Ms. Bobbie is a very gracious hostess, very welcoming and hospitable. She made us feel right at home. Property is very private and feels secluded, yet minutes away from Covington.

We just wanted a quiet relaxing weekend. This was the perfect place. The cottage was clean and comfortable. Ms Bobbie made sure we had everything we needed. We fished in the pond and hiked down to the river. Ms Bobbie made us feel right at home. Definitely recommend.

We loved everything about this house, most of all the warm hospitality of the owner. We rented it for a girls weekend -- 4 dear friends formerly of New Orleans reuniting from 4 states. The house completely exceeded our expectations. It was comfortable, beautifully furnished, and surrounded by natural beauty. Bobbie took such good care of us -- we really felt pampered with thoughtful details. You cannot go wrong with this lovely house. We loved it!

Relaxing Retreat

We were thoroughly impressed with this property. It was a nice retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The cottage is nicely decorated and the amenities were just as listed. Ms. Bobbie is such a sweet person and would love to have visited with her more. Unfortunately, we visited in January and the temperatures were a little cold and damp so we were not able to take advantage of the hiking on property. We will have to plan another getaway to enjoy that. Thanks for the great place to stay. We can't wait to venture your way again.

Nature’s Beauty

Everything was top notch. House was extremely clean & filled with all the necessities plus more. The hostess was phenomenal. She was welcoming, joyful & full of loving care for her guests & her property. Our eyes took in the beautiful views of nature. Our ears were treated to the songs of the birds. We slept very well. Enjoyed pond fishing. Far enough out for privacy yet close enough for city activities. Highly recommend.

Louisiana State Sporting Clay

The property was immaculate inside and out. Beautifully decorated with amazing furniture pieces from different eras. The entrance to the property is well manicured and just the most inviting we have come across in our travels. The property owner is the nicest person you would ever want to meet and more than accommodating personality and friendliness. The macaroons and strawberry cake were to die for, so delicious and unexpected. We would recommend this property to anyone that is visiting the area with a 5 STAR + rating, if it were a 10 star rating I would give it a 10+.

AMAZING is the best way to describe this property and the host (Mrs. Bobbie)! She made the home so warm and welcoming, and even provided delicious snacks. Also, the home was spotless and beautifully decorated. The property itself is gorgeous with a pond and access to the Tchefuncte river. My husband and I had such a relaxing time fishing in the pond and the river and just exploring the property. We did catch a few bass and brim, and we did see several deer including a baby!When we weren't exploring the property, we drove into the nearby downtown area of Covington which had great restaurants and shopping. Overall, we would definitely recommend this property for anyone looking to stay in this area!

You’ll Want to Stay for a While

From the moment we set foot on Ms. Bobbie’s beautiful property, we felt like we were home. The peace and tranquility were unmatched, and her precious house was the perfect place for us to unplug and enjoy some great family time. The pond is fantastic for fishing and you are a comfortable walk to the beautiful Tchefuncte River.While there, we were easily able to enjoy Global Wildlife and the Bogue Falaya Park with our grandson and also fun boutique shopping and great food and cafes in Covington.If quiet walks, coffee on the front porch, unplugging, and de-stressing are in your future, look no further than Ms. Bobbie’s place. She is a delightful hostess with unmatched attention to detail, and you’ll feel her comfort and warmth during your entire stay there. We most definitely will be back!

As good as it gets!

This is just the perfect stay! To say the property is beautiful is an understatement. The house is spotless, peaceful and perfect! It was everything we'd hoped it would be and so much more and we'll be back soon. Additionally, yes Ms. Bobbie is the perfect host...but even more so she's one of God's beautiful gifts to our world.
