My vacation rental is located on approximately 1/2 acre in a small, upscale community two miles north of the historic whaling town of Hilo. The lanai faces the cool trade winds and Honolii Beach, the popular eastside surf spot, is just a five-minute walk down a one-lane road.

The location of this gem was great....nice neighborhood and a short walk to Honil'i Beach Park, a great surfing and swimming beach. Terre was super friendly, and very available for any questions or needs. The King bed was so comfortable and the lizards and birds were entertaining. Also Bella, Terre's dog is super friendly and loves being petted.

We loved staying in Terre’s little bungalow. The proximity to the surfing beach and all the beautiful jungle around us was amazing! We enjoyed going into Hilo for the Farmer’s Market, bakery and the swimming area at the east end of town. It was also a great location for us to venture out to the Volcano National Park, then up north to the waterfalls. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Small, but comfy room right near a gorgeous black sand beach5 minutes from downtown Hilo. Close enough to everything you need, but far enough away for a quiet night being sung to sleep by frogs and light rain. Gracious host and we'll maintained location

This is a very special property - a classic Ohana studio walking distance to Honoli`i Beach. Well appointed with a friendly onsite host and sweet pup. Hilo town and all it has to offer is a few minutes away. Highly recommend!

First of all, Tere is an excellent host. The property is in a prime location on one of the most fun beaches around Hilo... Especially if you like the uniqueness of black sand and watching the surfers. While there's nothing fancy about this bungalow, it is clean and peaceful. And only 2 miles from downtown Hilo. It is very conveniently located. Our visit was during one of the hottest and rainiest months in August, and there was one point when the room got up to 90. It did cool off every evening, but there were some hot moments. It does back up to a two-lane highway, so when the windows are open, there is some road noise that's really only audible during the early morning. Overall, we had a great stay and found the home and the host incredibly pleasant.

The property was exactly as described. When I walked in I actually said out loud, "This is adorable!" I only stayed 2 nights but could have comfortably spent more. I was worried it might be too warm without AC, but the ceiling fan and cross breeze from the open windows made the temperature comfortable. Terre stopped by when I arrived and was warm and friendly. The property is pretty and is so quiet (except for the froggies which only add to the tropical ambiance). Thank you for a comfortable and relaxing stay Terre. Give Bella a pat for me, such a sweet pup!

We loved our cottage just north of Hilo. The best part was walking two blocks to the beach and watching all of the surfers. There was even a rainbow! Magical. The neighborhood is super quiet and Terry was friendly and lives next door. It only takes about 10minutes to drive into Hilo for dining and markets. There were gorgeous orchids in the garden. It was a perfect, low key place for us to spend a few days.
