Some of the pictures of the barn house include peach trees surrounding the barn. The trees are reaching the end of their useful productive life span. This year it appears we will have some peaches! Our guests are more then welcome to pick some while they are staying at the BARN. Please be kind and just take what you can eat and save for our next guests. In the future we hope to have a variety of fruit trees for all season's. Keep in mind if you have to "tug" on them, they are not ready yet. Keep checking, some ripen before others!

Calhoun County is famous for peaches and there are numerous farms nearby that have excellent farm stands.

This place was absolutely amazing!! Gorgeous on the inside and out! Great communication with the owners as well. It was so nice to stay here and be away from the city and just take all the beautiful views in and listen to the birds chirping while drinking coffee then wine. :) The ferry’s were fun to take and it was easy to get to Grafton or even to the big city if you needed to. I highly recommend this place and I would definitely stay again.

Excellent stay!!

Beautiful!! The Barn was a perfect getaway location for our long weekend. The pictures really don't do justice. We didn't come across anything that we thought could have been "needed". Love that your neighbor's dog came to visit both evenings in the hot tub. We will definitely be back for another stay. Thank you for sharing your property.

2nd Home (I wish)

This is the 2nd time my wife and I stated at the property, this time our great niece who lives on the island spent one night with us. The only complaint we could have about our times spent here was that it was to short. We will definitely return.

Peaceful, gorgeous views

Wonderful property, wonderful hosts. You could spend all your time just sitting and taking in the views but you can also play some pool, sit in hot tub, short drive to Grafton or shopping in St. Charles. The bed was comfortable, kitchen well stocked. What a special place this is. I hope to come back in the future. back in the future.

Why they chose this property

We came upon this property one day as we were driving from Springfield, Il. It was so beautiful with the rolling hills, peach and apple orchards and views of Pere Marquette state park in the far distance. It reminded us of Tuscany, Italy. We fell in love with the area immediately. We found a 24 acre peach orchard, and decided to build the Barn (as we call it) . It was to be temporary living till we built an Inn on the top of the hill. As we started to build the barn it got more and more elaborate with granite counters, pine ceilings, custom cabinets and Italian stone patio. We lived there for 10 years and loved every minute. As life changes so did our plans. We kept the home for others to enjoy and experience all the beauty. There is a great marina in Grafton, Il. , with boat & jet ski rentals. Plenty of nice restaurants and wineries. Zipline and state park just a ferry ride away.

What makes this property unique

The Views are spectacular! The river is 2 blocks down the road. Peach season is in July till Early September ! Best peaches in Calhoun County!!
