This was our 4th stay at the lake house, and we’ll be back again! It’s very peaceful, and within good distance to everything you need or want to do (stores, Cheaha). The reason we continue to come back is not just for the property, but because the owners are amazing! We had a minor issue we had to call the owner about, and before we knew it he was already ready to fix it!

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the property. The beds were comfortable. The lake was very lovely and the house was just as described. Plenty of hot water and kitchen was well stocked.

Very calm and quiet neighborhood. Lake is right in the back yard. Loved sitting on the porch and just watching the water especially when the sun is rising or setting. Very perfect for a quiet weekend fishing trip.

House was clean. Nice location on the lake. We did catch nice brim there. Parking was a little confusing for me but we figured it out. I don’t think anyone was actually staying at the neighbors house but someone would come there to fish and parked there. He was nice, never gave us any issues. The dock and boat ramp is shared. Wish the rest of our go up could have made it but we still had a great time!

Beautiful Lake

Bob and May have obviously gone to great lengths to make the place presentable and accommodating with all the kitchen and bathroom amenities you could ask for. But, If I was going for anything other than enjoying the lake I might be disappointed. The internet was not working, not the best bathroom/plumbing accommodations, lots of DVDs but no way to watch them, there is a Roku tv but with no internet no way to watch anything, however the lake and the proximity of Mount Cheaha is worth it all.

Overpriced

This property is older and pretty dated which we kind of expected from the pictures but it could be good with some updates as it has nice proximity to the lake. It is in need of a good deep cleaning though. View of the water is obscured by dirty windows unfortunately. Most of the windows also didn’t have any kind of window covering so very little privacy. Prior reviews mentioned bugs and that could be due to the lakeside door needing to be repaired or replaced since there is a large gap at the bottom. The beds weren’t very comfortable and one of the people in our group just slept in the recliner. The a/c worked great though and we were happy there were plenty of ceiling fans. The owner made the check in process easy and I didn’t bother them with our concerns because we just decided to deal with it and do a little cleaning ourselves. This was a girls trip and our group prefers comfortable beds and accommodations that appear to have been cleaned recently in preparation for guests and that is difficult to assess in the listing pictures so we were disappointed when we arrived.

The windows are designed to offer unobstructed views of the lake, and most guests enjoy the natural light and scenery. -The second-story windows open out to a deck, ensuring privacy as it is not possible for anyone on the lake to see inside. Many guests prefer the unobstructed view of the lake.-The lakeside environment can attract bugs, especially if the outside lights are left on, as noted in our welcome notice. We will inspect the lakeside door for any needed repairs to minimize gaps.-While we try to accommodate all guests' comfort, we're sorry the mattress didn't meet your preferences. We have four queen-size beds, and many guests have complimented their comfort. We are sorry to hear that your group found them uncomfortable. -We are pleased to hear that the air conditioning and ceiling fans met your expectations. We take great pride in the service and accommodations we provide, as reflected in the numerous five-star reviews we have received from past guests. This property was filthy! Cobwebs & roaches

First of all I had a terrible time trying to find this property because the address was not well visible from the main road. I had to call the owner to assist me in finding the house. He opened the door & left. As we walked inside right away I noticed that the floors we dirty then as I approached the kitchen area I saw that they attempted to make the falling apart table look nice. However, the dishes on the table were dirty, including the glasses. The table was dirty and the entire kitchen was filthy. There was food left in the refrigerator from..I assume the last guest? I needed to use the kitchen to prepare food for a birthday get together but it was so dirty it made me sick! I got a pan out & it had a dead roach in it. I went looking for mixing bowls & there were cobwebs & dead bugs & rat droppings in every cabinet. The refrigerator was filthy the microwave was filthy the toilets were disgusting! I was afraid to sleep in the beds. There were cobwebs on the headboards. I have used VRBO quite a few times & never had a problem but this time it took the cake! Unbelievable that an owner of a property would actually charge someone money to sleep in filth and I had to wash each dish & silverware prior to use & I even had to sweep the floor & clean the toilet. Beware!!

It was a beautiful little River house the only let down was not having a big TV in the living room and a better outside intenia but I was aware of the no cell service and the internet if that could be improved I had no issues but I loved the kitchen I would continue to update the rest of the house
