Mark, thanks for the review. You were a great guest and I hope you come back. The (5 bedroom ) bedding in the house is: sleep number King, King, Queen, 2 Queens, Queen Bed and Queen Murphy Bed so it sleeps 14 comfortably. and actually, there is a hidden twin for a young child if needed. As a 4 bedroom it sleeps 8. As far as adding cushions to the lounge chairs, I have repeatedly tried that but find that with the Hilton Head humidity they mold so quickly that guests complain and we have to remove them. They also tend to stay wet with all of the afternoon rains and then get thrown on the ground so that people can sit on the dry Sunbrella fabric on the chaise instead. So admittedly I've given up on the cushioned lounge chairs although the barstools do have cushions and seem to drain much better, perhaps because of the size Regards, Kathleen

I live here half the year, so this is more than “just a rental”, and I particularly appreciate people like this renter, who took such excellent care of my home.

These were the kind of guests you wish you could get every single week. While most of my guests are wonderful, some of them are just exceptional, and these people are. Thanks Karen - since I live here for a few months each year I make sure my home is robustly equipped and user friendly. The new elevator is a real upgrade, along with the two new laundries and all the new pantry space. Additional kitchen cupboard and other extras going in next week!

Thanks Janet - I know you have stayed in my other Hilton Head Properties and you are a great guest - hope to see you next year. Ocean's Gem has over 2000 square feet of patios, atriums, pergola areas, balconies, pool decks -so whether you want a shady or a sunny spot outdoors, a communal spot or a private spot, you can find it. We start our 2014 upgrade on Monday so come see us in the future and enjoy a real "Gem".

It is also a pleasure to have delightful guests like these folks were. They cared for my home as if it were their own. I had not known that the new table had not been set up (the previous guest left the umbrella up and tipped and broke the last one) or I would have interened! The new table is a lovely Pier 1 wicker dining table with a bench on one side, 2 armed end chairs and 2 side chairs. Sorry Norma! I know that the bar stools and eating area around the grill are a bit high for the wee ones. Please come again and if your family gets bigger I have another lovely, bigger oceanfront that sleeps 23 called Sandpiper's Nook VRBO 183207 that my family prefers to Ocean's Gem! Kathleen

Is so delightful to hear from someone who truly enjoyed my home. Living there half the year I have furnished it as a 'home' and not a 'rental' and I keep it In immaculate condition.
