Great place in a perfect location. The house was very clean with everything you need for a great trip. The court yard is a great place to start and end your day.

Great location but very disappointed with condition and cleanliness of property.

I was so disappointed about the cleanliness and poor condition of this property, old and rusted appliances and lack of very basic amenities. I found the property to be very, very dirty. There was a lot of dust, the woodwork was filthy, as were the air vents and upholstered furniture. I observed and photographed cockroaches, spider webs, moths and mosquitos. The bedding was smelly and uncomfortable. The one available closet was filled with personal belongings. When it rained, the floor in the living room literally puddled and we had to continuously wipe it up so we would not slip and get hurt. The bathrooms were moldy and the downstairs toilet was broken. Thank goodness my Dad was a plumber and I knew how to put the valve back on. The towels were in apalling condition with stains all over every one we used. This is not an exhaustive list of the poor conditions. I thought we were renting a cozy, charming home in a great French Quarter location that was originally built in the 1700's. I did not expect to find the property to be in such dismal and dilapidated condition. I did appreciate the owner's attention to providing more than three television stations. However, no effort was made by the owner to remedy my concerns about the dirt. I mentioned on Friday how unclean the property was, he responded by stating that he a bad cleaning service and did not offer to assist further. I would never recommend this property and obviously never stay here again.

Fantastic location

This is a beautiful home. The location was even better than we thought and had an amazing time. Edward was very communicative when we came across an issue and he tried his best to resolve it, which was appreciative. The house is gorgeous, but I do recommend staying here with people you are very comfortable with. Going upstairs brings you immediately into one of the bedrooms. The second bedroom is separated with a little gate, so you won't have total privacy. The half bath is in the second bedroom and has a shutter door. Didn't bother us, but I could see a few people not liking that. Overall a fun stay

Great place with great charm!

We loved the little house in the FQ! It was a great location, that allowed us to be close to the action, yet still enjoy a restful and peaceful sleep.

Great location and great host!

Our group had a great time staying at Edward’s home. It was just off Bourbon but far enough away from the busiest parts that we could actually fall asleep. Nice courtyard in back for morning coffee and grocery store just down the street for cooking at home. Edward was very accommodating with both our arrival and departure, and we loved the home itself. Can’t wait to visit again! Thanks Edward!

Edward was very accommodating with our travel plans. The house is absolutely wonderful. Close to everything but removed from the wildness of Bourbon St.

Great and Convenient Location in the heart of the French Quarter

We traveled to New Orleans for a girls trip. The house was perfect for us. The location is absolutely amazing. We were close to everything with Bourbon Street being just a few feet outside our door. The house is full of New Orleans charm with all the amenities that you could want or need. It was a comfortable and fantastic stay!

Great Place for a Weekend Getaway

We had such a great time in New Orleans and in large part it had to do with this house. It is so centrally located that everything is at your fingertips. Will for sure stay there next time we are in town.

Charming Vintage Home in FQ

Six of us stayed at this FQ house for Jazzfest. The house is extremely well located, in the heart of the french quarter, but far enough down the quiet side of Bourbon to make it peaceful and relaxing. House was very old and had all of the charm you expect and desire in staying in the FQ. It was clean and comfortable. Only downside is the one full bathroom. Patio was awesome for early morning and late night hangs. Would recommend staying there if you are looking to be in the middle of FQ and walkable to CBD, Bourbon, Frenchmen, Decatur, etc.

Close to everything

It's a beautiful, spacious property. We loved our stay. We were very close to Bourbon, the French market, cafe du monde. We were able to walk most everywhere. There is only 1 thing that ppl should keep in mind renting this place. You go thru an alley to goto the back door of the cottage. If you are of a very large build or need assistance in walking, this may not be the place for you because the alley is very narrow and the only access to the upstairs bedrooms is a spiral staircase (which is absolutely gorgeous) Otherwise everything was perfect.

Lots of character and perfect location!

Edward is extremely nice, friendly, and informative and the location of this house can't be beat. There are 2 small bedrooms upstairs, but no doors, so if you are coming as 3 couples, make sure you are great friends :) I think this is house would be ideal for 2 couples, but like i said, being right off Bourbon Street is perfect as you are right in the middle of the action, but you're just off the street enough that it's nice and quiet. The courtyard in the backyard is great as well. Definitely recommend this place!

Excellent rental!

This place was absolutely awesome! My cousins and I rented this house for a wedding and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The property was clean, exactly as presented, and even more convenient than we expected. I highly recommend, and will stay here again for sure.

Best place for 70th Birthday!

Excellent location and very comfortable for 6 people. Courtyard in back was great for gathering, even though it rained cats & dogs on Saturday. Host Edward met us there and was very accommodating, pleasant, professional, and the property lived up to its good reputation in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. Easy walking to Oceania (best grits in NO), and Court of Two Sisters where we celebrated brunch on Sunday morning. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives. Edward, thanks for your prompt return of my $100 deposit--most VRBO properties take months to refund. I really appreciate it. Cindy Tarver Eugene, OR

Birthday celebration

We had a very nice time staying in this older style house from October 8 through the 10th. It is just off of Bourbon Street and Lafitte's Blacksmith Bar was just a few hundred feet away. The location was perfect and Edward the owner was very friendly and helpful. We had two other couples staying with us and as others have stated the house was very clean the moment we stepped in. We will stay here again as we make an annual trip to New Orleans every year.

Excellent: Style, Location and Owner!

We had the pleasure of staying in this unique vintage house for a guys weekend in NOLA. About 30 seconds from Bourbon street, in the heart of the French Quarter lies this gem of a stay. We were able to get everywhere on foot as Frenchman street was not even too bad of a walk. We went from the casino, to the bars, to the Jazz clubs to the party streets with ease. Edward the owner was extremely helpful and polite. The house was clean and comfortable from the moment I stepped in. Edward met me at the property and showed me the ins and outs of the house along with the town. I recommend this property and give it 5/5 stars!

Amazing gem in the heart of the quarter !

We had a amazing stay at this unique house. The house has a beautiful courtyard for sitting outside and is centrally located to everything. We loved staying in a historic home with such flair. The beds were very comfortable and the air conditioner worked fabulously for the hot, humid days. The host Edward was very friendly and helpful. The location was so great ! Will definitely be back !!

Great Location for FQF

We had three couples stay at this house for the French Quarter Festival. It is conveniently located for walking to all destinations throughout the French Quarter. It is a bit noisy because of the location, but not a problem. We enjoyed our stay.

Great location for Mardi Gras

we had 3 couples and our daughter and the house was snug with so many, but all were happy we stayed there. The courtyard was a great place to relax and chat, convenient for walking around and stopping back for breaks. It was somewhat nosy at night, but just off Bourbon it was expected and not a problem. Very nice!

Great Location....Some Funkiness (most to be expected given age)

We just returned from a fun trip to New Orleans for the Rock and Roll Marathon (and to visit our daughter who's in college there). We've visited a few times and stayed in "normal" hotels (Hampton Inn is nice) and historic French Quarter hotels. This was our first time renting a home in the Quarter. (Though we've rented homes before elsewhere.) We were traveling with two grandparents, a child and three adults. (One planning to "camp out" in the living room/couch.) The reviews opinions of the home varied a bit throughout our group. However, we all appreciated the fact we were living in a bit of French Quarter history. That said, we felt more could have been done to make the stay a bit more comfortable and less reminiscent of the downsides involved in living in the 1800s. First off, living in a home surrounded by brick that was laid a couple hundred years ago is cool. The layout of the home is a bit weird, which is likely to be expected since it was built before indoor plumbing. (The upstairs rooms do not have a door between them...so no privacy. And the 1/d bath is inside on of the bedrooms. Not ideal.) The kitchen was small but serviceable. (But it's not well stocked for major cooking.) The home is also quite lived in. The fridge included items of unknown vintage and we did have a stain or two on some of the linens. (The home was clean overall.) The courtyard was nice, though more of an asset in the summer when the evenings are warm, I'm sure. The entry way (down a tiny alley) was weird...but ok). The location was great...though a bit noisier than we expected as revelers tended to sit on the curb outside the home and drink/argue. (Right on the other side of the living room windows.) Which brings up the biggest negative of the home from our perspective. The living room windows are completely boarded up. No light whatsoever passes through them into the main living area. There also is no visibility or easy access onto Dumaine Street. (Our group felt that if you were going to be hearing the people going crazy outside, it might be fun to be able to people watch, at least.) As it was, the main living area is a cave. Not a problem at night, when it feels right. But a major downer during the day. (It didn't help that many light bulbs were out and/or light fixtures were weak.) Overall, we were a bit disappointed, but not horribly.

Great house!

We planned our trip to New Orleans for my husband's birthday. We chose this house because of the location & it looked really nice. When we arrived, the house exceeded our expectations. It is a beautiful historic home and the location is so convenient for walking around the French Quarter. We didn't drive our car once. I would definitely stay in this home again & I highly recommend this home for anyone's New Orleans stay.
