About this property
Newly Renovated- Rustic Cabin with Modern Amenities in Penfield -Near Elk County
Book your cozy cabin getaway in Penfield, PA. Our rustic yet modern cabin offers the perfect retreat for families and outdoor enthusiasts. Located thirty minutes from Elk Country and Pennsylvania state parks with hiking trails, fishing, and wildlife viewing.
The space
Welcome to our newly renovated cabin. Over the past year, we’ve poured our hearts into bringing this property back to life. Tucked away on a quiet country road in the heart of the mountains, it’s the perfect place to relax and unwind.
Enjoy the peace of our quiet location, complete with a cozy side porch perfect for morning coffee or evening relaxation. Gather around the nearby fire pit for late night conversations and marshmallows.
Wildlife is part of the charm here; you might spot deer or turkeys in the backyard. Or if you're lucky even hear a bull elk bugle in the fall. Our bird feeders attract a variety of colorful species, making it a birdwatcher’s delight.
There is a small seasonal creek (winter, spring, fall) that runs past our house. You can hear the waterfalls from the cabin porch or sit on the covered bridge that goes over the creek. There’s also a larger creek on the state game land behind the property that flows year-round.
Both creeks are beautiful places to explore, but as with any natural setting, please keep a close eye on children and use care when near the water. By booking, you agree that you and your group are responsible for your own safety while enjoying these spaces.
The cabin features two comfortable bedrooms, fresh linens, cozy blankets, and towels provided. You'll find a fully equipped kitchen with all the appliances, utensils, pots, pans, a Keurig, and a traditional coffee maker; everything you need to settle right in.
Bedroom 1 - Queen Bed & Closet
Bedroom 2 - Twin Bed, Bunk Bed, Trundle Bed & Closet
Living Room 1 - Sofa & Chairs (Comfortably Sits 8)
Living Room 2 - Love Seat, Chair & Fireplace
Other things to note:
WiFi is available onsite (please note it is DSL, so speeds are slower than in the city)
There is no tv at this place, our goal is to have our guests enjoy nature and connect with each other.
The house has window units for a/c.
Washer & Dryer available upon request.

About the host
Hosted by Merlin Halteman

I'm happily married to a wonderful wife and a proud dad to three energetic young boys. I'm a Christian who loves the Lord and strives to bring kindness, integrity, and warmth into everything I do.
I’m passionate about meaningful conversations, good books, and spending time in the great outdoors. Whether it’s hiking a scenic trail, enjoying great food, or simply sharing stories with others, I believe life is richer when we take time to connect.
