Bath, bunk-bed room, tub-shower room and half-bath on main level; 2nd level has 2 BR (each with full Bath) + sleeping loft; abundant windows - you feel outdoors, even when inside. Large screen porch; multiple decks from house to pier; large, private, shady lot in a great cove for swimming, waterskiing, boating, sailing, fishing. 4 Kayaks available for use; Abundant parking, handicap accessible. **5/26/26-Please be aware that the area is currently in a drought and lake levels are low. Please use caution boating, diving and kindly avoid excess water use. **

Great beach home! Our family, including 2 labs, enjoyed the stay immensely. It's worth noting that the online photos do not do the place justice. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised by the home, it's location, & amenities.

It was absolutely perfect! Loved being on the lake, the dock that my brother was able to drive his boat up to, and the sandy beach! And the dogs loved it too! The place was perfect, very clean, host was very responsive. It was even better than the photos. We didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to come back!

Location and house size were great. Plenty of room to spread out, outside and in, great lake views. It's a well-loved home, could use some updates but it worked for what we needed. Could use extra kitchen towels/washcloths and it didn't have dishwasher pods. Fridge was not keeping things cold- owner attempted to have it fixed, but part wouldn't arrive in time so we had to make due with coolers and ice packs in the fridge. Luckily house had a separate ice maker. I'm sure it will be fixed for next guests. Only plastic wince glasses so if your picky, bring a few glass ones. Despite all, we enjoyed our stay.

I booked this for our youngest son’s wedding and couldn’t have been happier. Beautiful setting - we watched deer while eating breakfast. There were 4 bedrooms - each with their own bathroom which was perfect for my other sons and their wives. My sons loved the ability to fish in the downtime and it was large enough that we could enjoy eating and spending time together. We enjoyed our stay!

We love coming to Lake Norman and staying at the Hideaway! The house has everything we need. It’s very comfortable and the proximity to the lake and grocery stores make it an ideal location.

This home truly is a gem for those looking for a quiet getaway right on the water. The best things about this home have been the views, ample seating and spacious areas for gathering, and a beautiful area all around. The house was clean upon arrival. The perks have been the kayaks that are available for use, on-site, laundry, and an ice machine in the kitchen.The advice that I would give to make improvements would be to offer cleaning supplies like Windex spray and Clorox wipes so that we could keep the house tidy. Also, only four dishwasher tabs and two trash bags were provided. If renters should bring these things, it would be helpful to note that. I also would recommend that the owner get baking sheets for the kitchen.To sum up our stay, we agree that this home is worth saving in your search. Everyone in our party from 6 years, to teens, to adults enjoyed their stay!

Why they chose this property

We bought the property in 1974, when we moved to Gastonia, and it has been our main source of recreation all these years. Our two daughters grew up with the place. As our family expanded, we found it expedient to do the major renovation and addition in 2004.
In 1987 we bought the Cozy Cottage (VRBO#484074) next door; it sleeps eight .

What makes this property unique

We enjoy the open spacious feeling, the nautical theme decor, the large screen porch, the shady decks, the private setting, and the surrounding woods and wildlife. The relatively smooth water of the cove renders it ideal for water sports and offers protection from the big waves of the main channel. Our lot with 156 frontage feet of shoreline is located in a nook that maintains our sand beach.
