The property was great. Pictures were right on. The views were spectacular as well as the sunsets. Walking along the white sand beach, waves from the lake, and sounds of the waves were inspiring. I would highly recommend this home especially if you are looking for an extremely relaxing vacation.

Property is stunning and the pictures don’t do the location justice. The house is literally steps away from the waterfront. House was comfortable with great furnishings and all the necessities of home. Jack was phenomenal to deal with and very easy to communicate with.

We had a wonderful week's stay at the Swift House. My wife and I plus our son and family(total of 7) all had fun swimming, kayaking and just lounging on the beach. The beach access is easy and safe for kids(water shoes are helpful for wading). Harbor Springs, Mackinac City and even Sleeping Bear Dunes are great day trips. Leggs Inn and Pond Hill farm are close by also. Beds are comfy and definitely a relaxing and fun trip. Will do it again!

Great view, beautiful beach and relaxing atmosphere at Swift Cottage. Comfortable beds, well appointed kitchen and fantastic location. We enjoyed the beach immensely, golf a round at Hidden River and supported the local establishments. Lots of laughs shared on the decks and around the campfire. Thought those gorgeous sunsets were just for us! Spectacular time. Thanks so much!

This amazing cottage and location is a peaceful, relaxing get away with a unique combination of forest seclusion and lakeside beach ambiance. The house was as clean as my own home and we appreciated that.
Our host, Jack, was immediately responsive to our needs and made us feel like friends.
It was very hard to leave this beautiful place but we’ll keep the precious memories with us forever.

This beautiful waterfront property exceeded our expectations! Not only was the house exactly as described and the views unbelievable, the owner was a delight to work with. The house had everything we needed. From the kitchen cookware...to the comfortable beds/bedding...to the hot showers with plenty of cozy towels...and fireplace with lots of wood...no detail was overlooked!! Our favorite part was...well everything! The sunset views were breathtaking and having water access on the property was fantastic! I could say so much more...but EXCELLENT pretty much sums it up. We look forward to returing to this Lake Michigan paradise.
Our family has returned to Swift Cottage again and again because it is such a beautiful piece of Lake Michigan heaven. The property is like nothing we have ever seen. It is the most beautiful beach we have stayed on. The cottage is so cozy and the owner has thought of everything a family needs for a comfortable retreat away from the hustle and bustle. Bonfire chats on warm nights overlooking the lake or fireplace fires with a movie on chilly Michigan nights, both made for amazing memories. The owner, Jack, is so easy to work with and his care for his cottage is easily evident. He continues to maintain and update the property on a regular basis and checked in with us during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. We can’t say anything negative about anything about our stay! We hope to come back again and again.

Thank you so much for your nice comments Jon! The best part about owning a vacation home is to be able to share it with such fine and wonderful people like Jon and his family!
The Swift Cottage had everything our group needed - sand, sun, water, and spectacular sunsets. The setting made you feel like you were miles from anyone allowing us to enjoy its peaceful beauty. The cottage and bunk house were comfortable and cozy making us feel right at home. It is the best Lake Michigan spot we have stayed at, yet!

Swift Cottage is located in a Beautiful setting on Lake Michigan! It feels very private. We spent a lot of time playing in the sand on the beach; making castles with our granddaughter, flying a kite, and searching for rocks. The cottage offers lots of indoor and outdoor seating which is very nice. It offers plenty of room to spread out while still enjoying time together as a family. The beds are cozy. The kitchen is well stocked. We enjoyed our time at The Swift Cottage Very Much! Thank you for sharing it with our Family!

We rented this waterfront property for the close proximity to the beach. My family was very pleased with the soft sand and privacy of the beach. It was enjoyable to walk up and down the beach at all hours of the day. The amenities at the house were nice (Viking oven, newer washer/dryer /frig/dishwasher). We rent 4-5 properties a year and this one was well-stocked with TP, paper towels, garbage bags, cleaner, laundry/dish soap, Saran/foil, spices, sharp kitchen knives, wood, kindling, matches, etc.. Beds were comfortable and plenty of towels for showering. The family couch had cushions with feathers that were floating around but, was cozy to sit on. We used the Adirondack chairs on the deck for playing cards, as well as the Adirondack chairs around the firepit for s'mores. Plenty of seating was available outside to accommodate various activities. My family wanted to sleep in the house, so I took the bunk house to myself, "Mommas Retreat." Hulu, Netflix, and Disney streaming were a plus--even in the bunk house! The front door lock broke and the deadbolt would not retract. I contacted Ryan the property manager and he fixed the lock in no time (really a great guy-- I need him to move by Northville). The property is close to several nature preserves that we liked hiking through. We saw baby skunks, fawns, fox kits, and herons. We spent a day kayaking down Bear River and used our own kayak in the lake at the property. If you are looking to rent a boat, I would recommend Lake-to-Lake rental. We spent a day on Walloon Lake tubing with our teens. Overall the property has a nice location and was enjoyed by my family for a little, 1-week getaway. Thank you, Jack.

Seriously? Perfection!
My family and I spent 4 days at Swift Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. The property is located on a beautiful, woodsy, private lot situated directly on the shore of Lake Michigan with two separate ways to get down to the private beach. We spent most of our time on the beach or sitting around the fire pit. The decking around the cottage is huge and overlooks the property and the lake. Sunsets were amazing! The beds were very comfortable and the sheets were luxurious. Jack was wonderful to work with and so very accommodating. I would highly recommend this property, and we can't wait to go back!! Thank you so much, Jack...for everything!

Thanks so much for such kind words and staying with us! Another wonderful family who came to share a big birthday with us at Swift Cottage! We cant wait to have you all back ...what a super kind and wonderful family!! Thanks so much!
What a nice and peaceful getaway! The property is just as described, just steps away from a beautiful private beach. The house was very comfortable and accommodating! It was just what we needed to all recharge. Ps. Try the chocolate chip cookies from the GoodHart general store. Best I’ve had by far!
Just vacationed at "Swift Cottage" after having our eye on it for a couple years. A lovely home in an absolutely perfect location! Right on the water with a lot of privacy. Wonderful, wonderful spot! Plenty of outside decking with tons of sturdy outdoor furniture. A central access to the beach would have been nice and may become necessary with lake levels so high. Was a bit tricky for us "older" folk but doable. The "bunkhouse" is an added experience and we were very happy to see that a toilet and sink have been added to it. Fun vacation...perfect place!!

Thanks so much for such kind words we appreciate it and glad you had a wonderful time :)
The setting of Swift Cottage is exquisite. It is very quiet, right next to the water and far off the road so no car noise. You can hear the waves and see the water from the house, deck and surrounding land. The swimming is wonderful. Sandy beach. The house itself is very comfortable with new appliances, beds, furniture etc. The owner and care taker are very accessible and helpful. It was a truly wonderful week.
We were looking for a true getaway from everything and we definitely found it! Our family truly enjoyed how quiet, peaceful and beautiful the property was. The water was clear and the beach was amazing. We were some of the only people around and felt like we had our own private beach most of the time. Our boys especially liked watching the family of bald eagles that kept landing on the adjacent beach. The pictures are all accurate but can never truly show the beauty of the sunsets that are visible from the beach and fire pit. We had wonderful family bonfires each night as the sun set. They were unforgettable! The cottage is cozy and well appointed. The kitchen has everything you’d need to cook most anything. The beds were comfy. We had one cool, windy day and stayed in and had a cozy family movie night on the super comfy couch in front of the fireplace. The owner was really easy to work with and such a nice guy! We will definitely rent again!

Why they chose this property
When we saw this historic artist cottage steps from beautiful Lake Michigan we immediately fell in love. This 100 year old artist community Chippewa Cove was founded by local artist Ivan Swift and was the site of many of his works of art. The cottage sits at the North end of the community and offers a real private and quiet experience. In addition to having over 100' of lake frontage there is an additional private park for you to enjoy! This property is a real gem! Like our facebook page @swiftcottagegoodhart
What makes this property unique
