West Portal is a small neighborhood situated on the western slopes of San Francisco. It offers a mix of shops, a variety of great restaurants, neighborhood bars, Peet’s, Starbucks and a local cinema; all of which lend to an atmosphere of 'retro-style' charm.

The superb location of our home will provide you with convenient access to all areas in San Francisco. We are one block from the West Portal Muni station where you can board the K, L or M trains to reach the waterfront to visit Pier 39, Fisherman’s Wharf, Alcatraz and more! Visit Oracle Park Baseball Stadium, Home of the World Series SF Giants; enjoy shopping at Union Square, or ride our famous Cable Cars!

Perfection!

This home is so lovely and feels like a home away from home! I couldn't believe how wonderful the neighborhood was, and we enjoyed so many excellent eateries and local shopping. This property was so perfect that I booked it to return for my anniversary! The host was so helpful and kind - I will be visiting this property often.

SF 2023 visit

The property was amazing. It had everything we wanted including very close to my son’s home and across the street from my granddaughter’s school Being so close to the Muni and West Portal was definitely a plus. Would stay here again

The house is very nice, the neighbourhood is also nice. It is difficult to move with public transportation because it is far from places of general interests and it takes 45 minutes on average. In general the house is well organized, however the bathroom is very small. Additionally, the house is quite old, including the kitchen, which we never used. The landlord is extremely nice and available. Unfortunately, I found that the house was not properly cleaned and I was surprised to see some old stuff were still in the fridge.

Nice place to stay in SF!

Unfortunately I was in San Francisco for a surgery at UCSF. I was there for one night and my family stayed on for five days. The house is very comfortable and fully equipped. It's in a great neighborhood and it has parking which is a major plus! Debra was a wonderful host. And if you are going to UCSF for any reason, it's very convenient.

Comfortable home

My wife, teenage son, and I enjoyed our stay at this property. We found it to be very clean with a well-stocked kitchen. The off street parking was much appreciated. The house is two blocks away from the storefronts of West Portal. We enjoyed take out from Little Original Joe's and The Submarine Center in the neighborhood. The house was as advertised and very comfortable for our family.

Charming Two Bedroom in a Lovely Neighborhood

A classic San Francisco row house in the West Portal neighborhood 15 minutes from downtown by tram. Retro interior that functions nicely. West Portal is a cute community with lots of shops and restaurants, from Italian to Indian, and a special vibe. A great place in its own right and a fine access point into San Francisco with no need for a car.

Location ! was excellent. Very close to variety of restaurants,coffee shops, pharmacy, cleaners and public transportation. House was clean, kitchen was well equipped, owner checked to see if everything was to our satisfaction several times during our stay. We liked that the house had a washer and a dryer.We will come back .

Home away from home

We arrived to a charming, beautifully decorated home. A nice welcome note and bottle of wine from the owner. The furniture was very comfortable and clean. Our visit was to be close to UCSF for a family member but we were able to walk into the town of West Portal a few times. The town in just down the street and has all the restaurants and shops you would expect. The owner is very nice and accommodating. I will definitely be back to stay for a vacation!

West Portal home-great locaton/experience

This small home in West Portal (WP) is actually large by SF standards. Can park one car in driveway (even a large SUV), which is rare thing in SF. Sometime we walk but often took Muni, which is a short block away. WP is a great 3 block long area of shops and great restaurants (Noe Valley bakery is a legend). Home has washer/dryer and all the conveniences of a small kitchen and dining area. Two great bedrooms, high quality linens and towels, and an adequate bathroom. We were able to easily and quickly communicate with the owner, who left a great guide book of area attractions and restaurants as well as a well documented explanation of "house rules." We will return as SF is one of our favorite locations to spend a week or several.

This was a perfect property for us to stay at while visiting San Francisco. The house was easy to find, on a quiet street, very comfortable beds, and has everything you need for your stay. The Muni stop at West portal is a short walk down the hill and takes you into downtown in 15 minutes. The town of West Portal is also a gem for those looking for a home base to explore the city or get away from the conference you’re attending downtown. We ate a different restaurant every night and they were all excellent. Our host Deb was amazing! Very communicative. Very helpful. I really appreciate everything you did for us. Thanks.

The location of this property was very close to all the wonderful locations in San Francisco, including the Golden Gate. We appreciated the beautiful neighborhood, great places to eat for all cuisines, and the clean and cozy homely home, that was well stocked and with all the right touches to make our family's visit with teens a very comfortable and enjoyable vacation to this sliver of the West Coast. The host was very communicative and very attentive to the needs of our family, going out of her way to assist. All in all, it was a wonderful stay over 5 nights for our family.

The home is in a great SF neighborhood.

Very walkable neighborhood with restaurants, groceries, parks, wine and even medical services nearby. The transit station will connect you with all parts of San Francisco. Host was very helpful and great to work with.

Fabulous Location

West Portal is a wonderful communitythe house is in a colorful 1920’s neighborhood with trees & plants. Loved hearing the children at the school across the street with lovely birds singing their songs. The bed was comfy & there were plenty of hangers & drawers to unpack. The towels were nice & the shower was great with a rainfall head. We easily took the train into the city several times with the station being minutes away. Deb is a great communicator & a lovely host

Wonderful time in San Fran

Debra was great with communication…upfront, checking in during our stay and at the end. Home is in a great neighborhood within walking distance to public transit and a cute stretch of shops and restaurants. We also loved the easy parking. Home was well stocked and comfy beds. Had a great stay!

Wonderful place in a cute neighborhood

Deb’s place was perfect for my family and I when we came to San Francisco to visit my parents. The home was lovely, comfortable, and neat - a real home away from home. This property was perfect in every way, the host was so kind, nothing was a problem and was so responsive. Exceptional Stay close to UCSF

Our stay at this VRBO was exceptional. The location couldn't have been more perfect, especially for us needing proximity to UCSF. The neighborhood felt safe and welcoming, providing peace of mind throughout our stay. Of course, the comfortable beds and convenient parking were still standout features that enhanced our overall experience.
