About the host
Hosted by Taylor Jordan
We are Taylor and Jordan, a married couple who balance professional careers with a love for the outdoors. Years ago, after spending countless weekends skiing, hiking, and exploring Mt. Hood, we realized Government Camp had truly become our happy place. We wanted a spot where we could escape the city, unplug, and create lasting memories with family and friends.
When we discovered Collins Lake Resort, it felt like the perfect fit—close enough to walk into town, steps from Ski Bowl, and with all the amenities that make life easy after a long day in the mountains. The heated pool, hot tub, and sauna sealed the deal, and the layout of the townhome made it ideal for gathering together yet still having space to spread out.
We put our hearts into remodeling the home to reflect both comfort and style—mixing mountain charm with modern touches. For us, this townhome isn’t just a vacation rental; it’s our home-away-from-home. We love spending time here with friends, cooking in the kitchen, warming up by the fireplace, and letting the kids take over the loft space.
Hosting gives us the chance to share that experience with others. Whether you’re here for fresh powder days, summer hikes, or a cozy romantic weekend, we hope our Collins Lake townhome becomes your retreat too.

Why they chose this property
We chose Collins Lake Resort in Government Camp because it offers the perfect balance of convenience, comfort, and mountain adventure. Nestled at the base of Mt. Hood, this neighborhood puts you just steps from Ski Bowl, a short drive to Timberline Lodge, and within easy reach of Mt. Hood Meadows. Snow Bunny, the family-friendly beginner ski area, is only minutes away, making it ideal for kids and new skiers.
Collins Lake Resort itself feels like a true mountain village, with access to a year-round heated pool, oversized hot tub, and sauna that guests love after a day outdoors. The resort is quiet, safe, and walkable, with restaurants, coffee shops, and ski rentals in Government Camp just a few minutes away on foot.
Beyond skiing and snowboarding, this location shines year-round. In the summer, you can hike and bike directly from the resort or head to nearby trails like Mirror Lake, Ramona Falls, or the Timberline to Town Trail. Lakes such as Trillium Lake, Clear Lake, and Timothy Lake offer fishing, swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding, while the Sandy and Salmon Rivers are perfect for floating or casting a line.
We also loved that Government Camp is Oregon’s only true alpine village—it has all the charm of a ski town while remaining family-friendly and relaxed. Collins Lake offers the amenities of a resort with the comfort of a private home, and being right off Highway 26 means it’s easy to reach Portland or Hood River for day trips.
For us, it’s the perfect combination: ski-in/ski-out vibes with shuttle access, a welcoming mountain community, and a resort neighborhood that feels like home.

What makes this property unique
This Collins Lake townhome stands out because it’s more than just a rental—it’s our family’s home-away-from-home that we care for with pride. Newly remodeled from top to bottom, the space blends mountain charm with modern luxury in a way that feels both comfortable and elevated. Guests immediately notice the light-filled interiors, wood floors, granite countertops, curated artwork, and high-end furniture that make the home feel fresh and welcoming.
Unlike many properties in Government Camp, ours offers true convenience: a private heated two-car garage with benches and storage for skis and gear, plus additional guest parking. The layout is ideal for families and groups—two king bedrooms with updated bathrooms provide comfort for adults, while the custom-built queen bunk beds and kids’ loft (with its own TV lounge) give younger guests a space to call their own.
Technology and comfort also set this property apart. We are the only fiber-connected home in Government Camp, offering blazing fast 250+ Mbps Wi-Fi supported by a professional UniFi system—perfect for streaming or working remotely. Roku Smart TVs with Guest Mode make it easy to log in securely to your favorite apps.
Guests also enjoy full access to Collins Lake Resort amenities: a heated year-round pool, oversized hot tub, sauna, and clubhouse—just steps away from the front door. From here, you can walk to Government Camp’s restaurants and shops, access Ski Bowl directly, or catch the shuttle to Timberline Lodge and Mt. Hood Meadows. In summer, hiking, biking, fishing, and lakes are minutes away.
What makes our home truly unique is how it combines luxury, convenience, and location—a place that feels personal, cared for, and perfectly positioned for every Mt. Hood adventure.
