We rented this house because it had the capacity to house our entire family local and out of state. We were SO happy to spend the week together, it was such a blessing. The house was accommodating and had plenty of things to keep us busy! I would definitely recommend for any large family vacays.
Michigan was beautiful/the location as well. The home itself was not kept up-to-date, extremely dirty, holes in the walls, had to clean before staying there. Will not return.
Pleasantly surprised with the size of the home. Worked well for our large family. Owners were very kind and worked well with us to assure our stay was the best it could be. Also nice benefit that we were able to bring our dogs with us. Thanks for everything.
We were a group of 20 people for a family gathering. We enjoyed our stay and had a wonderful time. I would be hesitant though to recommend a group our size to stay there for an extended time. This property has a well and the water pressure drops off dramatically with minimal use. But overall we would stay here again.
Our week at Chris’s worked out great for our large family. It was affordable, roomy, comfortable and located in a lovely, quiet neighborhood. Our youngest grandson fell in love with the golf cart and the pontoon boat added tons of fun for everyone. The fire ring was perfect and purchasing wood from the owner was very convenient for a week’s stay. Communication with Chris was easy and the home was what we expected from the listing. We will definitely throw in some extra camp chairs and our favorite pillows and head to Pam and Chris’s again if they’ll have us!!
Very nice vacation. Glad we also rented the pontoon Even with the rain it was still able to use a bit. . Only bad thing were the mosquitoes, but it was just wet this year. .certainly not the owners fault. The neighborhood was pleasant for short dog walks. . A few extra amenities would have been appreciated. Everything was fine and we had a good time. . Thank you Pam and Chris for sharing your home.
Pictures don't show the charm of this house. It wasn't what I expected and I was pleasantly surprised. We had 11 adults and 6 children. There was plenty of room and we all had a great time. I had my own boat and it was nice to have it at the dock ready to use. We walked to the dock which wasn't too far and had use of a golf cart to carry our heavier things back and forth.
We have never run into so many issues at a rental. The whole house was dirty and had to be cleaned when we arrived. Food was in the sink, toilet was dirty, hair in the shower, lights were not working in some rooms or light bulbs were missing. Holes in walls, outlet covers missing, smoke detectors were missing. There was standing water in the garage along with mold on the walls. The golf cart had no working breaks and there were trees growing out of the gutters. The water had so much sulfur it smelled bad and we had to buy our own drinking water. Most dishes had to be rewashed because there was a greasy grime on them or even dried food stuck to them. Water damage around the skylight and so many spiderwebs on the ceilings we swept the ceilings in all rooms. It was disgusting and when I reached out to the owner they did not respond. We have already opened a complaint with VRBO. These people should not be allowed to rent this house in its current condition.
The place worked perfect for us with Grandchildren between the age of 1-15. Everything was there that was needed. We had so much fun fishing any cruising the lakes. Chris was a great host as we did meet him. Pam answered all questions in a very timely friendly manner. We are so glad we rented this place. Thank you Pam & Chris for your hospitality.

Overall a very nice experience. A few minor issues but Pam and Chris were responsive and took care of them. We enjoyed our stay and the pontoon boat was a lot of fun!
Great location and home for a week working on location.
We had a job in the area and rented this house as our home base. It had all the comforts of home. The house was clean and up to date and in a perfect location. The kitchen had everything we needed and gave us the opportunity to prepare meals instead of eating out every day.
My friends and I wanted to get out of the city and came across this awesome property. Although we went off-season we were able to enjoy the coldwater area and all the great amenities already at the house. We would definitely stay there again

Great location for a family reunion and 50th wedding anniversary. Very disappointed with the lack of cleanliness and adequate information. The master bathroom toilet lid was broken, the top door stop dismounted, a used dog bone wrapped in a paper towel was in the drawer of a dresser, and much more.

We had a wonderful time at this property. There was more than enough room for 16 of us including friends who stopped for a night. The yard was mowed and clean with more than enough space to have fireworks. The owners were helpful and available when needed. Renting the pontoon boat was the best idea we had. It ran like a charm and was great for fishing and going to the sand bar and ice cream store. Great place for children and multigenerational families.

Needs deep cleaning
We were very disappointed in this place. While it's roomy and has lots of room the place was not clean at all. Spider webs and spiders in every corner of every room. My son stepped on a nail from a tack strip going into the laundry room and tore open his toe. If it had been a child they would have needed a trip to the ER. The owner said he would be back to fix it. He never came back. My husband had to find a rock to pound it back in. The grill is so old it burns the food every time. My son had to bring his grill up. The pots and pans in the kitchen aren't fit to cook with. We all woke up coughing after the first night. The 4 a/c filters were all black and plugged up. We had to clean them! The patio furniture was filthy. We had to buy cleaning supplies to clean that and to clean the place. We were told the owner would come back to clean them. Never did. Ceiling fans were filthy. It looks clean when you first walk in but once you are inside you start seeing the dirt. With covid being a high risk this place should have been disinfected. Bathroom faucet upstairs was not cleaned. Behind the toilets were cobwebs and spiders. Behind the tv stand was the worse. Webs hanging off the cords and spiders everywhere. We will NOT be going back!
Property is a great option for large families, or in our case the 4 of us, with friends and family that came and visited throughout the week. Thanks to Chris for showing us the ins and outs of the house along with the boat we rented from him for our week stay. Highly recommended and would love to stay again next year. Thanks Chris and Pam for the great week.

Nice large property with access to pontoon boat and golf cart
We had a family of 11 staying there and there was plenty of space to move around. The golf cart was a major perk as to getting to the dock, location was quiet and secluded somewhat, and a pontoon was great! We will definitely be considering this a yearly vacation.
Very nice accommodations and very quiet and peaceful!
Everything was flawless and the home was very spacious and had great wi-fi
All appliances are quite new and the bedding and towels were very nice!
We really enjoyed our stay!
Great size home with a bedroom for each family. Available beds for each of the 19 people. Something for everyone to do from ages 1 to 84! Great lake for boating and fishing, Roku for movies to quiet the little children, large table for adult games at night and a large yard with basketball and fire pit for outdoor activities. We added a kiddie pool on the back deck for the 1-7 year olds to enjoy while parents observed from camp chairs in the yard.
Owner was always available for any questions or simple repairs during our stay. Addition of wifi, Roku and a golf cart added to the entertainment and ease of activities on the water.
Location off the water and near a dead end kept outdoor play safe for the entire group.
The house was large enough to hold everyone in our group. The house was centrally located between Coldwater MI and Fremont IN. The boat that we also rented was very nice.

Why they chose this property
We purchased this property because of the number of bedrooms. We love the idea of extended families vacationing together and thought that a 6 bedroom home with access to our beloved Lake Bartholomew would be the perfect addition to our rental cottages. With the large back yard families with children have plenty of space to play and relax together. The quiet private drive means little traffic and peaceful nights. Lake Bartholomew is connected to 6 other lakes on the chain that offer different types of boating experiences from great fishing to ski and tubing fun.
What makes this property unique
Six bedrooms allows for large family gatherings. Two bedrooms feature queen size beds. The loft area is great for hanging out or use as another sleeping area. Open floor plan allows for the whole family to be together. Two decks for relaxing and outdoor dining. There is a large backyard with fire pit for s'more fun and games.
