About the host
Hosted by Amy Hughes

Hi! We are two professors at University of Michigan-Ann Arbor who split their time between two homes (Ypsilanti and E Lansing). We are experienced hosts — we hosted travelers in our guest suite in Brooklyn for fours years before moving to Michigan. Also, we travel frequently, so we know what we like to have in a VRBO. :-)
Why they chose this property
We love this neighborhood (Midtown) because it’s diverse, very close to EMU and the public bus (easy 30-minute ride to U of M’s Central Campus), and walkable (many restaurants, cafes, and other amenities nearby). Also, just a 15-minute walk to a lovely park, and if we walk 5 more minutes, we are in Depot Town!
What makes this property unique
Our house was built in 1898…It is FULL of sunlight because of the big windows and high ceilings. It has all those classic details, like generously sized rooms, moldings, and wood floors. And yet all the plumbing and electrical has been updated. It’s awesome!
