About this property

The Sandbox – Vintage Beach Camper with Prime Fishing Access

The Sand Box – A Cozy Vintage Camper Near North Topsail Beach

Looking for an affordable beach getaway without the resort price tag? The Sand Box is a remodeled vintage camper full of character, just steps from the charm of Rogers Bay Campground and less than a five-minute walk to the beach.

This is not a luxury vacation rental—and that’s exactly what many of our guests love about it. The Sand Box is an older camper that has been thoughtfully updated to provide a clean, comfortable, and unique place to stay while you spend your days enjoying the beach, fishing, boating, or exploring North Topsail.

The layout is similar to a studio apartment, with one open living and sleeping area and a separate bathroom. It’s compact but functional, making it a great option for guests who plan to spend most of their time enjoying the beach and the outdoors.

Inside you’ll find a comfortable bed, a small kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave, sink, coffee maker, air conditioning, and a cozy sitting area. Please note that the original stove is no longer operational. Instead, we’ve equipped the camper with an air fryer, electric griddle, and an outdoor gas grill, giving you plenty of options for preparing meals.

The camper does have a shower, but due to its small size, we do not recommend it for guests over approximately 100 pounds. Many guests choose to use the campground bathhouse instead, which is just a short walk away and offers more space.

Outside, relax on the private deck with comfortable seating, the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee or unwind after a day at the beach. The peaceful campground atmosphere makes it easy to slow down and enjoy the simple things. With the beach less than a five-minute walk away, you can easily spend the day on the sand and return whenever you need a break.

The Sand Box is perfect for couples, solo travelers, fishermen, beach lovers, and anyone looking for an inexpensive place to stay near the coast. If you’re expecting granite countertops and luxury finishes, this probably isn’t the right fit. But if you appreciate vintage charm, don’t mind a few quirks, and want an affordable place to sleep after a fun day exploring the coast, we’d love to host you.

Please note: This is a remodeled older camper with the personality and imperfections that come with its age. We’ve worked hard to make it clean, comfortable, and welcoming while preserving its vintage charm. We believe in setting honest expectations so every guest knows exactly what they are getting.
