About the host
Hosted by Paula
The story of Goldilocks' Haven began in August of 2004, but in reality, it goes back even FURTHER than that! Let's just say, it has been a multi generational story, going back to Paula'a grandparents, who honeymoooned in G'burg, taking in the beauty of the GSMNP in its most original essence, back in 1935, and came for 50 years STRAIGHT, eventually bringing along their own family, and then Paula's parents bringing her+siblings, and then we had the crazy idea, to continue that same passion that they had developed in Paula, with our own daughter, making the 4th generation.
You see , it's not just the sweet memories of coming with grandparents & parents that has made this area, the GSMNP so special, but it's the BEAUTY, the TRANQUILITY that takes us away from the concrete jungle EVERT TIME we hit the parkway taking us into G'burg. It's the moments we've spent skipping rocks w/ our daughter, the lunches on big boulders on the river at the Chimney tops picnic area, the peacefulness of Cades Cove that takes us back to the original settlers of the area and how simple their lives were ( yet required hard work and hard times, as evidenced by the many young lives noted on cemetery headstones) and the BEAUTY they took in EVERY single day, living in these mountains that continue to call us HOME! They were ON to something contagious and these mountains have captured our hearts and souls, not to mention the people of today- welcoming, genuine, real and offering a part of themselves to US as we only know in part, what many of their family have known for GENERATIONS..the MOUNTAINS are calling, and I must GO~John Muir
GH has been thoughtfully deisgned by our own hands, over our 20yrs, prior to John's Homegoing in November 2023. As I continue to carry GH forward, we hope you and your guests will create memories to carry your family and friends throughout the generations.
With our family of 3, ALL blonde hair, it is only natural to be Goldilocks Haven - Just Right!

Why they chose this property
AH, CHALET VILLAGE...it is the GEM of the Gatlinburg community, and highly sought after, as it offers ourselves, AND our guests, what many of us don't even realize we need >TRANQUILITY and an ESCAPE from the concrete jungle.
Chalet Village spoke to us almost INSTANTLY as we entered the natural setting that sets us apart from other communities, as well as the proximity to the GSMNP. Can we say BEARS????? An added bonus is having OBER mountain at the top of our mountain, and getting to see the tram go by. These, plus the proximity to the G'burg bypass, 5 minutes to downtown G'burg and 5 minutes to the entrance ( and VERY popular, park sign , for the almost obligatory pic) were added perks that appealed to us. As the park is what draws us to the area, we felt the proximity to it as an added benefit for our guests, that makes it easy to get around, without sitting in so much traffic on extended weekend getaways or week long vacations.
You see, Chalet Village is one of the earliest communities in the area. It captures within its community, the essence of what would later become the most highly visited national park in the country, all right within Chalet Village. This meant that ourselves AND our guests, could and WOULD feel as close the GSMNP all while being able to stay in a cabin with various modern amenties. This makes it possible for us to offer our guests what is part of our mission, and our name:a HAVEN, peace, rest, restoration
Chalet Village stole our hearts! 500 yards from the GSMNP border.
Each lot and structure is UNIQUE ( not cookie cutter ) mimicking the uniuque character of the mountains- NO TWO are EVER alike. Each property is DIFFERENT, having its own personality. Being able to offer our guests accessibilty to 3 clubhouses, with tennis courts, a fitness room, basketball courts & PICKLEBALL courts ( opened May of 2024), including a pool with a MOUNTAIN view.
All these amounted to be a SLAM DUNK in our decision!
