Start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Leave beds that have been slept in unmade. Place dirty towels in a laundry basket and leave on washer.
Turn off heat. Make sure all windows are closed and locked.
Replace beach toys, chairs, barbecue to garage. Close garage door.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Quiet hours 10pm to 8 am . NO FIREWORKS allowed in Santa Cruz County Guests should take own food/beverage with them when they check out
Maximum parking 4 cars in driveway/front of house. No commercial vehicles, RV, boats, campers. Leave one parking space for owner. No garage parking.

The house was just as listed, worked perfectly for our group of 5. One thing to note, there can be a lot of traffic (foot and cars) across the street since the home overlooks the ocean. Not a deterrent, but something to be aware of. Beach access was easy either via a long staircase or easy drive.

Let me tell you this VRBO is superb in every way. Ideally situated directly across the street from a fabulous child & dog friendly beach. The kids had so much fun swimming in the ocean with the boogie boards provided by the owner. The house is stocked with every essential you could imagine & then some. We definitely would rent this house again for a future Santa Cruz County vacation.

Perfect for our girls’ weekend getaway!

The house was as described in the online listing and more. There was plenty of space for our group of 5 adult family members. There are wonderful ocean views from both inside on the lower level and from the awesome second floor deck. It was clean and well-stocked. One could not ask for a better location, nor a more helpful and accommodating host.

This property was so cute! It was fully stocked with everything you would possibly need! Beautiful balcony view of the ocean. We watched a whale for hours off the balcony. The photos are just as it looks.

Best Thanksgiving ever!

Words really can’t describe how great this location is. Located right in front of the ocean, and a block from Sea Cliff Beach. This home accommodated my families Thanksgiving celebration. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed to cook. Thank you to Mother Nature, the weather was absolutely beautiful, which just made this trip over the top. Thank you Maureen for opening up your family home to us. We will never forget this Thanksgiving.

Communication with the owner was great. She responds quickly. However, the cleaning fee was a bit much. Some of the sheets have an odor where we had to wash it before using it.

Our Annual Family Get-a-Way Stay

What a wonderful property Maureen has. The view is spectacular! The 3 bedrooms are large and sleeping arrangements can vary with trundle day beds, king and queen size beds so the house can accommodate multiple families. 2 bathrooms are right across the hall from the upstairs bedrooms. The downstairs bath also has a w/d. The decor is lovely - casual and beachy. I have rented many properties - domestic and international through VRBO and this is one of the best cared for I have rented. It is a short walk to the beach, restaurants and ice cream shop. Myself, 2 adult children and grandchildren stayed for our annual beach trip and we will be back. Thank you for providing such a remarkable property.

Up Close & Oceanfront!

Girlz getaway #30 and counting! We've stayed in a few different houses in Santa Cruz area over our 30+ years of friendship, but this one DEFINITELY had the best view! Perfect size vacay home for 6-8 people comfortably(seating in the front room is limited) and very clean! Ample parking, beds were comfortable, plenty of bathrooms, smaller kitchen(but workable!) When we had a problem with cable working(Warriors were on!), Maureen the owner was QUICKLY there to assist! Very friendly and we thought she would have been fun to hang with as well! The upstairs balcony deck is awesome for cocktails/appies and a view that won't quit! No direct beach access across street so do your hw if you have kids that need access. Right above Seacliff State Park. Loved our stay so much! Went for hike in Forest of Nisene Marks State Park(had a ranger offer us personal tour guide!), went out to Severino's Bar & Grill for dinner and live music(don't get me started on the hilarity that ensued there!), had some Marianne's Ice Cream in Aptos, ventured out to Moss Landing and watched Wine Country on Netflix! Couldn't have gone better!

Wonderful location right across the street from Seacliff State Park as advertised; however, you have to walk about a block then take a lot of steep steps to get down to the beach, which is not great for small children or elderly adults. The drive-in entrance to the beach is maybe a quarter mile away.

This place has it all!

We loved everything about this ! It was located on the street above the beach so when you relaxed on the top balcony, you had an incredible view of the ocean. The entire house was stocked to perfection. It had every utensil, serving tray, appliance you could possibly need. Lotion and shampoo galore in the bathroom. There was literally nothing missing. We were here for our daughter‘s graduation from Santa Cruz and this was the perfect place to get away from the crowd and just enjoy the family!

Lovely property, great host, VRBO PLATFORM THE ONLY ISSUE

Thank you Maureen for sharing your home with us!We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Aptos. The house was well designed and outfitted and the location superb.Unfortunately, VRBO becomes increasingly difficult to deal with, even our property owner was frustrated with them.The rental agreement they required we fill out did not work digitally and was problematic and their fees have become ridiculously high. If you do have an issue during a rental, it is nearly impossible to speak with someone. On a previous rental, they erroneously canceled our reservation when there was an issue and we wound up having to scramble to find accommodations since we were already at our destination.

What was Needed

Family Time on the Coast

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with our kids and grandkids at this property which had enough room for us, a spectacular view and was conveniently located near many local attractions. (The cleaning fee seemed a little high given that we tried to leave the house as clean as it was when we arrived, but maybe the charge is typical.) We would definitely recommend to others!

Amazing deck and view

The view from the second floor deck is spectacular. The house was well stocked and cozy. Very conveniently located to stores and local eateries. Really enjoyed the experience and the location can't beat.

Annual Family Fun Time

This is my 6th stay at this lovely and well maintained home. Fabulous view from living room and deck are so enticing you never have to dip your toes in the sand. Sleeping accommodations are perfect for my family. My grandchildren refer to it as their beach house and ask all year long when we get to return.

Aptos Beach House

Beautiful home on Seacliff Dr. Well stocked with cooking items. Very close to grocery shopping. Listing is a bit deceiving as the beach is quite a distance from the home. You'll either need to drive 10 minutes to Seacliff Beach State Park and pay $10 to park or walk down and back up 160 steps. The steps are about a 5 minute walk from the house. Owner lives in the attached apartment which is directly below the upper deck and some of the noise on the deck bothered her. She keeps her car in the garage behind the house and received a text early one morning that she would need to get her car out by 9:30. Since we were told we could park in the driveway I had to go move a car so she could get her car out. Fortunately we were there. Not sure what she would have done if we weren't. The umbrella for the upper deck was trashed and I sent her a picture right away. At that time I did not realize she was living there. Her response was "yikes". For the price we paid I would have thought she could have gone out and purchased another one for us but that didn't happen. It was difficult in the warm afternoons to spend time on the deck. There are quite a few throw rugs in the house which have no non slip on them and the floors are tile. Would recommend no rugs or non skid rugs as I almost slipped a couple of times. I put them all up so that no one got hurt. You are asked to count all dishes and silverware to make sure there are 12 of each. Seems pretty petty.

Many celebrations have taken place in this home and it has always been a place of laughter, relaxation, and time spent with people important to each other. We are delighted to share our home with you and those people special to you. Enjoy the sound of the surf, sunsets over the Cement Ship, with a view of dolphins, whales, pelicans and otters.

Why they chose this property

Because our extended family enjoyed the beach so much, our grandparents purchased the house. Our uncle built a house on the street behind the house and a cousin lived in another house on that street so we always had lots of people together. With the peaceful sound of the ocean and the gorgeous view from the deck, living room, upstairs bedrooms we have always appreciated this special place. Regardless of the weather, this home will leave you relaxed and rejuvenated. The beach and area provide the opportunity to take in the outdoors and enjoy the ocean.

What makes this property unique

The central location allows you to head to Monterey or Carmel, to Nicene Marks, to Santa Cruz or to the Cement Ship. Hiking, biking, kayaking, paddle boarding, bodysurfing, walking, sightseeing, and wine tasting are just some of the many activities we enjoy in the area. Unobstructed view of Monterey Bay from Monterey to Santa Cruz. Easy to walk to various eateries, walk to the beach, easy on and off the freeway.
