About this property

Bayside Manor: Walk to Beach & Marina - Pets OK!

Stay just steps from the bay at Bayside Manor, a charming Northport retreat perfectly situated in the heart of the village—just 500 feet from the water. Designed to comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests, this dog-friendly home blends relaxed coastal living with the warmth and walkability of small-town charm.

In the winter, there is certainly no shortage of activities!

Seasonal Events & Festivals:
- Northport Winter Carnival (Late February) ; A fun, community-focused winter celebration held on Braman Hill in Northport featuring broomball, milk jug curling, cardboard sled races, a chili cook-off, a snowman building contest, and more family entertainment.

Outdoor Recreation & Trails:
- Cross-Country Skiing
- 45 North Vineyard Trail – Suttons Bay ; This scenic 3-mile loop at 45 North Vineyard & Winery offers groomed terrain for cross-country skiing through rolling vineyards. The trail welcomes skiers of all levels and can also be explored on foot or snowshoes.
- Leelanau Conservancy Guided Skiing – Palmer Woods ; Seasonal guided cross-country ski outings at Palmer Woods Forest Reserve are part of the Leelanau Conservancy’s Winter Trail Series. These staff-led trips accommodate beginners and experienced skiers alike.
- Leelanau Trail (Region Wide) ; In deeper snow, sections of the public Leelanau Trail provide extended classic ski routes connecting rural countryside and destinations like Farm Club. Locals report ungroomed but skiable stretches along the trail.

Snowshoeing & Winter Walks:
- Vine to Wine Snowshoe Tours ; Guided snowshoe excursions through private vineyard trails connecting multiple wineries—such as BluStone Vineyards and 45 North—combine winter hiking with local wine tasting and often include lunch.
- NoMiWoman Snowshoe & Wine Event (Lake Leelanau); A seasonal event featuring a relaxed snowshoe tour through the vineyard followed by wine, warm soup, and community connection hosted at Aurora Cellars.
- Local Trail Systems Around Northport ; The Northport & Omena Chamber notes that numerous trail systems—including Nagonaba Trail and sections of Leelanau State Park—become excellent routes for snowshoeing and winter hiking once snowfall arrives.

Winter Waterfront Exploration:
- Ice Caves & Frozen Shoreline at Leelanau State Park ; During especially cold seasons, the bay can freeze out toward the shoreline, creating ice formations and natural landscapes that are magical to explore on foot or snowshoes (conditions vary by winter).

Winter Wine Country Experiences:
- Shady Lane Cellars Wiener Ski & XC Ski Trail ; A festive winter cross-country ski event at Shady Lane Cellars where you can ski interconnecting vineyard loops, enjoy hot cocoa, s’ mores, and beer brats, and even rent ski gear locally.

Sip & Ski Tours:
- Guided ski tours that take you through Leelanau’s scenic open countryside and groomed trails, including stops at local wineries for tastings and a warm lunch.
- You’ll be within easy walking distance of Haserot Beach, the Northport Marina, Marina Park (just 500 feet away and home to a great playground), and an array of local shops, cafés, and wine bars. The host was very nice and welcoming. It was a little chilly in the up stairs bedroom. But everything else was good.

Hi Kevin, thank you for your feedback. Glad to hear you had such a great time! We've installed a space heater in the upstairs bedroom to ensure it is warm enough for guests during the colder months moving forward. Hope to have you back soon!
