A stunning light-filled cottage on a quiet, oceanfront location.

The floor to ceiling windows and large deck offer spectacular views of Crockett Cove. We were surprised by the cottage's setting and loved the mid-century design. It's handsome and rustic at the same time. The only sounds we heard were ocean birds and the occasional lobster boat. We want to return next summer.

I'm sorry to say our experience here was less than ideal. The hot water heater was not working when we checked in on Saturday and wasn't fixed until Monday. I wish this had been checked before the rental period. It was so inconvenient we had to move and pay for another rental in the area. A couple of us ended up returning after the water was fixed and stayed a few nights because the other rental was too small for all our family. The beds were all uncomfortable, stained, old and saggy and the place had cobwebs in the corners, ceiling and around the kitchen. The patio cushions were old and dirty. A plug in burner was provided because two burners didn't work on the stove. The bathrooms were both located upstairs. The stairs were steep and rather dangerous as the handrails were sporadically placed. I actually fell off them and was hurt. Also it was way too cold to be staying in October. There's only a fireplace and a few space heaters which kept tripping the breakers. I was so exited to stay here as it was similar to the Muir Boathouse which we enjoyed. Overall it was a bust with a great view.

Jennifer - we are sorry that there was a hot water issue upon your arrival, we did provide a very generous concession for the inconveniences you mention in your review. As for the stair orientation /heat note: We do depict the home really well online with photos of the stairway and a couple of notations that this is an unheated rental opportunity which you choose to stay in for an October week. We agree that the stove issue is a pain, we thought the induction burner was nice to have there in lite of the cooktop issue . The cooktop will be replaced before next rental season - we have already begun the legwork with the property owners and appliance vendor. The cooktop is built into the countertop and there will need to be a certain amount of construction needed to make the appliance upgrade.
