Five-star stay near the Bourbon Trail

We had an absolutely amazing stay at the Rickhouse Retreat in Bardstown. From the moment we arrived, it was clear how thoughtfully this home was designed — beautiful interiors, incredibly cozy, and so many fun and relaxing amenities. We loved everything from the hot tub and sauna to the massage chairs, and there was truly something to enjoy around every corner. Rosa was wonderful to work with and had great communication throughout our stay. Everything we needed was provided, and the home was perfectly set up for a comfortable, stress-free getaway. The location was also perfect — private and secluded enough to truly unwind, yet so close to the Bourbon Trail and all that Bardstown has to offer. It was the best of both worlds. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Rickhouse Retreat to anyone looking for a memorable, relaxing, and beautifully curated stay.

We left wishing we’d planned to stay longer!!

What an incredible place! We only stopped for one night during our road trip, and our group of six quickly realized we didn’t have nearly enough time here. We arrived tired from a James Beam tour and spent the first hour just walking through the home saying, “wait, look at this,” again and again. You can tell Rosa puts real thought into every detail. The sauna and massage chairs were exactly what we needed after a long day. We melted into those chairs, enjoying the quiet. Later we opened the bottles we’d picked up on the trail and gathered in the speakeasy lounge. It felt like going out without leaving the house! The biggest surprise was the annex building. We hadn’t planned to use the golf simulator on a short stay, but we ended up watching a show on the huge curved screen like it was our own private theater. Check-in was simple, communication was easy, and the house just works. It feels comfortable, thoughtful, and designed for groups who want to unwind in style. Next time, we’ll plan for at least 4 nights, maybe even 5!

About the host

Host profile image
Hi, I’m Rosa. I came to Kentucky to build a place for people who want smooth logistics and standout moments, so your group connects easily and your trip feels effortless and truly memorable. I run The Rickhouse Retreat with one goal: make your Bourbon Trail trip easy to savor. Expect clear communication, fast replies, and spaces that work the way you live—movie nights, slow mornings, and premium recovery in the wellness suite.

I design for flow before furniture and people before everything. Families celebrating milestones, friend groups chasing bucket list distilleries, and executive teams needing a polished, low friction base all stay here. If you want help, I will simplify choices into a plan that respects your pace: drive times, tour styles, dinner reservations, and private drivers. If you prefer a looser plan, I will share a concise short list and step back.

Comfort here is quiet and intentional: good light, clear instructions, small luxuries where they matter most, and privacy always. My favorite feedback is, “We could relax—we did not have to think.” That is the bar I set for your stay.

Welcome to bourbon country. Whether you are here to celebrate big, slow down, or make smart decisions about great whiskey, I am honored you are considering spending your time and your stories here.
