Sweeping water views with the sound of crashing waves and gentle ocean breezes are the highlights of this upscale family home located in the private beachside community of Crescent Beach Cottages.
With three separate bedrooms (queen, queen, twin) and another set of twin beds on the updated lower level, this home comfortably sleeps 8.
The home is clean and bright throughout. All bed quilts, comforters and pillow shams are provided freshly laundered for each guest. Bath mats also provided freshly laundered for each guest.
The first floor of the house features a queen bedroom and a twin bedroom which share a full bath.
The second floor features the kitchen and large great room with two seating areas and a half bathroom. Enjoy preparing meals in the bright kitchen with views of the water and conservation land. The kitchen is fully stocked with plates, glasses, flatware, serving utensils, and pots and pans (including a large lobster pot). Appliances include a traditional coffee maker, Keurig coffee maker, toaster oven, blender, hand mixer and Magic Bullet smoothie maker. Granite countertops, electric stove, dishwasher and new refrigerator round out the gourmet kitchen. The great room offers a TV with DIRECTV. The large upper deck off the great room offers sweeping ocean views to the east where you can enjoy amazing sunrises and views to the west to watch the deep orange sunsets. Outside, there is a table for dining, two relaxing rocking chairs and a Weber Grill for outdoor cooking.
The third floor features the master suite with a queen bed, walk in closet, a peaceful sitting area and a separate upgraded bathroom with tub and shower.
Back on the updated lower level, there are two twin beds and a sitting area. The washer and dryer are located on the lower level with a walk out entrance available.
Just off the first floor porch, there is a private outdoor shower with hot and cold running water. Also provided for the tenants use are a variety of beach items. We have eight beach chairs, at least four boogie boards, one beach umbrella and assorted sand toys. No need to drag those necessary items with you - they take up too much space in your car!
The beach is literally steps away from the back porch down a private path. This section of Crescent Beach is south of Mansion Beach with amazing surf and north of Scotch Beach and the popular Town Beach.
The house is located directly across from the Block Island Club which offers weekly memberships that provide access to tennis courts, kayaks, paddle boards and sailboats. A trip to Andy's Way is a short bike ride north and the downtown area with restaurant and shops is located a short ride south. The house offers easy access to many attractions in town.
Finally, when you decide to take a break, the family home is stocked with an assortment of puzzles and family games like Scrabble, Clue, Monopoly and more!
From a safety standpoint, carbon monoxide detectors and a brand new monitored smoke alarm system has been installed throughout the house.
We are interested in renting to families and couples that will take care of this home as if it were their own.
Absolutely no tenant dogs are allowed in the community and renters are expected to respectful of the neighbors in the upscale community. There is parking for two cars on the driveway.
Block Island is our most favorite destination! We would be excited to offer advice for newcomers to the island. We hope you decide to join us this season.

Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and return the keys
Trash is collected on Tues and Sat and each trash pickup has a 100 lb max. Trash above this weight will be charged separately. To avoid overage, dispose of trash on both days. Recycling is unlimited.
If you bring 2 cars, please park them back to back and not side to side in the driveway. Our driveway is BEFORE the house on the right side of the house. Please only park in the driveway.

Settler's Rock and North Lighthouse are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Clayhead Nature Trail and Old Harbor. Our family has been traveling to Block Island for more than 40 years. Our two children have loved the island and after many years of renting, we decided to buy a home here.
We currently live in Greenwich CT, while our son and daughter attend college in Colorado. We will meet you on island for check in and check out.

Why they chose this property
We love the beach and wanted a home where everyone could come and go to beach on their own schedule. Run up to the house for a snack or to use the bathroom. No need to pack a day's worth of gear. We found that in our location at Crescent Beach Cottages.
We are the second owner of the home which we purchased from a year round Block Island resident. Since purchasing, we have thoughtfully upgraded the home to offer amenities we appreciate while still having a beach house vibe. We painted the house throughout, updated the bathrooms and kitchen with new tile and granite. We have included all of the items we use on vacation like beach chairs, boogie boards and a beach umbrella.
The house is also provides easy access to downtown shops and restaurants. It's an easy (flat!) bike ride into town or just minutes by car. New Harbor is also an easy trip buy bike as well as Andy's Way for amazing kayaking.

This is our seventh rental season and we are enjoying the opportunity to share our home with others. Block Island is such a special destination, we are excited to have other families come and experience this magical place.
