Each cabin is nestled in the forest and features a private sauna, gas fireplace, and thoughtfully designed kitchenette — all overlooking immersive woodland views. Relax under starlit skies by your fire pit or gather at the shared pavilion. Located just 15 minutes from downtown Duluth, 18 minutes from Two Harbors, and a short walk to Lake Superior access, Wildernest is perfect for romantic getaways or authentic North Shore escapes.
Each Wildernest Cabin is a beautifully appointed studio retreat with a private bathroom and barrel sauna, set within the North Shore woods along the iconic Scenic 61. Arranged around a gentle loop road encircling a shared pavilion, all six cabins offer:
Interior Space
• Large picture window with built-in bench framing forest views next to a seating nook
• Two-sided gas fireplace next to the picture window for cozy ambiance & warmth
• Queen-size bed with two nightstands
• Open-plan kitchenette and dining area with sink, induction cooktop, full fridge/freezer, coffee maker, hot-water kettle, and stocked pots, pans, dishes, and silverware
• Dining table and two chairs positioned beside the two-sided fireplace
Bathroom
• Walk-in shower with sliding glass door
• Vanity with under-sink storage and mirror
Climate & Comfort
• Gas fireplaces inside and outside for instant ambiance and heat
• Mini-split AC unit for whisper-quiet cooling
• Radiant heating providing consistent warmth (winter use only)

Children
Wildernest Cabins is designed as an adult retreat with a maximum occupancy of two guests per cabin, regardless of age. While children are welcome, our property does feature several safety concerns for children including exposed sauna heaters, hot fireplaces, an open fire pit, and location on Highway 61. We do not provide specialized children's items such as cribs or highchairs.
2-Night Minimum
All cabin reservations require a two-night minimum stay. This gives you time to truly unwind and experience the North Shore — whether that's a morning sauna, a sunset hike, or simply slowing down to enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
