About this property
Delightful holiday cottage in a peaceful, rural location with stunning views
Situated in a peaceful, rural location between the pretty village of Dunkeld and the market town of Blairgowrie. Inchtuthill Coach House lies amidst beautiful Perthshire countryside within walking distance of the River Tay.
The property is detached and has been converted forming a spacious open plan living area with a fully equipped kitchen and log burning stove. Double glass doors lead out to a modern wooden balcony, a great sun trap with spectacular views towards Birnam Hill (west facing). The property has two bedrooms (twin and double), a bathroom (with a modern shower) and a spacious hallway. Facilities include a dishwasher, smart TV, DVD player, Wifi, DAB radio with Bluetooth, fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. The coach house is fully heated providing a cosy winter retreat in the winter months.
There is a private fenced garden with picnic table (furniture also provided on the balcony).
A peaceful retreat in rural Perthshire with gorgeous views, the perfect place to unwind and enjoy rural Perthshire...
Inchtuthill Coach House lies a mile and half down a farm road, close to the village of Spittalfield. Dunkeld lies to the west just 15 mins by car and Blairgowrie to the east, again just 15 mins by car.
There are plenty of places to visit whether it be a country house such as Glamis Castle, Scone Palace or Blair Castle, perhaps you prefer something more adventurous, you can try white water rafting, quad biking or perhaps a spot of golf! If walking is more your cup of tea then there are endless walks in Perthshire from a gentle stroll at the Hermitage in Dunkeld, to bagging Munros (a munro is a hill/mountain over 3000ft). There are plenty of gentle walks from the cottage including a lovely riverside walk which is part of the core path network. You can also walk from the property into the village where there is a coffee shop serving delicious cakes and lunch! There is also an organic farm shop in the village.
The Coach House is the perfect retreat after a day exploring this wonderful part of Scotland, there is a log burning stove for the cooler evenings or if weather permits a glass of wine on the balcony watching the sun set over the Tay Valley.
When at Inchtuthill not only will you be able to enjoy glorious views, riverside walks and genuine peace and quiet but the surrounding area is renowned for a vast abundance wonderful wildlife including fallow and roe deer, birds of prey, hare and much much more...
Nearby Dunkeld lies on the River Tay and is famous for its beautiful cathedral, and riverside pubs - well worth a visit. There are plenty of coffee shops, a great deli (delivery available) and a fantastic bakery (Aran Bakery) selling delicious coffee, sandwiches, cakes galore and wonderful homemade bread! There is plenty more including two art galleries, craft and interior shops, a butcher, whisky shop and chemist. If you have children then you can take them to 'Going Potty' where they can paint their own piece of pottery to take home.

About the host
Hosted by Victoria Brooks
My family and I moved to Perthshire in 2003 from Wiltshire in England. The Coach House is very much a family run business. We love being able to share the incredible surroundings and wildlife - Inchtuthill is an incredibly special place.
Why they chose this property
The views, the peace and quiet and the open space! The property is secluded with stunning views across the Tay Valley towards Birnam Hill. The location is ideal being just over an hour from Edinburgh, 25 minutes from Perth and just 15 minutes from Dunkeld which we love so much!
What makes this property unique
We fell in love with the property for it's location. A hidden gem in rural Perthshire! The views and character of the property also helped! Just driving down to the property you are embarking on a 'wee' Scottish Wildlife Safari! Regularly you will see deer, hare, buzzards and the occasional red squirrel! It is always a good idea to have your camera ready. The bird life is also amazing.
Inchtuthill is named after the Roman Fort (Inchtuthill), behind the property is an old Roman look out point (not much to see but fascinating). Just over a mile away lie the remains of the Roman Fort, Inchtuthill. There is not much to see but interesting to imagine how it once was! You can read about Inchtuthill on Google.
The river Tay is just 10 minutes from the property.
