Important Weather & Access Information:
This home is located at approximately 4,000 ft in elevation, which means snow and winter weather are a real possibility anytime temperatures drop—often when lower elevations do not see snow. If there is a forecasted chance for snow in the area, it likely will snow here.
Because of this:
Appropriate Vehicle Required:
Guests must arrive and stay with a vehicle equipped for winter conditions (e.g., 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, snow tires, chains as required). Roads may be steep, and conditions can change rapidly.
Road & Driveway Conditions:
Driveway and road conditions may be icy, snowy, or slippery during winter weather. While we do our best to provide snow removal and ice-melting materials when possible, weather and municipal services are beyond our control and we cannot guarantee perfectly clear conditions at all times. The main road is state maintained, but the driveway is not.
Guest Responsibility:
By booking, you acknowledge that you are choosing to stay at a high-elevation property where winter weather can impact travel and access. Guests should:
• Check weather and road conditions before arrival and departure.
• Carry tire chains or have winter-rated tires during snow season.
• Allow extra time for travel in winter weather.
• Be comfortable driving in snowy/icy conditions.
We want you to have a safe and enjoyable stay! Please reach out if you have questions about winter access or preparation.

Why they chose this property
Tucked gently into the folds of the Great Smoky Mountains, this a quiet, well-esteemed neighborhood that seems to exist just a little outside of time. Mornings arrived softly, carried on mist that drifts between the trees and settles like a blessing on rooftops and winding lanes. The air smelled of pine, damp earth, and wood smoke, and the only alarm clocks were birdsong and the distant rush of a hidden creek.
The homes are thoughtfully spaced, each one respecting the land it stands on. Wide porches face the mountains, inviting you to sit with a cup of coffee and watch the fog lift, revealing layers of blue-gray peaks stretching endlessly into the distance. Privacy is cherished.
Afternoons move slowly. Sunlight filtering through towering trees, dappling the roads with shifting patterns of gold. The sounds of the day fade, replaced by crickets, owls, and the soft sigh of wind through the trees.
This is a place where people come not to be seen, but to belong—to breathe deeper, move slower, and feel grounded by the steady presence of the mountains. In the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains, this neighborhood stands as a quiet testament to grace, tradition, and the enduring comfort of home.
