We want to make sure you have the utmost convenience! You'll be provided an access code to the entrance prior to check-in. The owners are local and will be able to be reached by platform messaging during the duration of your stay.

Located in Allisonia on the New River, the Lodge is in a quiet, friendly neighborhood about 10 miles
(15 to 20 minutes) from Claytor Lake State Park, around 18 miles (25 minutes) from Radford
University in Radford, and roughly 27 miles (35 to 40 minutes) from Virginia Tech and downtown
Blacksburg.

The property is adjacent to the New River Trail and the New River. Direct access to the New River
Trail is down a private 100 ft trail at the side of the property. Access to the river is by public boat
ramps approximately one mile downstream in Allisonia, and 10 miles upstream in Foster Falls - with
some access for tubing available between these two points.

The home, shed, contents, and yard are all available for guest use; some closets are locked for homeowner use. More than a vacation rental, this is a home. Please enjoy all the amenities and handle with care.


The River Trail Lodge features three levels of comfortable living space with plenty of amenities to enjoy your stay. The main living area on the second level features the living room with Roku TV, convenient half bath, a dining area, and the fully equipped kitchen with both a regular coffee maker and Keurig. There is a sliding door from the living room to a deck with views of the river area and surrounding hills. Also on this floor is the primary bedroom with a king bed and ensuite bathroom that includes a walk in shower and clawfoot tub.

Upstairs, the third level has two large guest bedrooms. Bedroom 2 has a queen bed and a full over full bunk bed. Bedroom 3 has two queen beds and a twin captain’s bed. The closets in these two bedrooms contain extra bedding, air mattresses, and a Pack-n-Play. The bedrooms share a full hallway bathroom with a tub/shower combo

The first level has a game room with a Roku TV, foosball
table, darts, ping pong table, dry bar, and small fridge. There is a sliding door opening to a patio and
a fire pit. Bedroom 4 is on this level with a queen bed and its own ensuite bathroom with a walk-in
shower and clawfoot soaking tub.

Outside, guests can enjoy use of the gas grill deck, patio, yard, and surrounding area. An assortment of bicycles, kayaks, tubes, a canoe, and life jackets are stored in the shed and available for guest use.

• For safety and security, exterior cameras are located at the front door, back access point, and one facing toward the walking trail
• Trash cans are in the shed, please tie up your trash bags and dispose of here before you depart
• The breaker box is located in the garage and can be accessed by guests if needed

- If leaving dog(s) unattended in the home, then they must be in a kennel (crate) and not have the run of the house (or yard!). A large kennel is provided in the shed for you to use on the front porch, back patio, or in the first (lower) level of the house. You are welcome to bring your own kennel if your pet is more comfortable in their own nest

- Dog(s) must stay off sofas, chairs, and beds – you are welcome to bring a dog bed for their comfort

PETS: We understand Fido is part of the family and want to welcome them too! However, we have had property damage from dogs in the past. So, we allow 1-2 well-behaved and kennel-trained dogs. IF AND ONLY IF these house rules are understood and followed

- No use of fireplaces

- Turn off all lights when leaving.

- Ensure all windows and doors are locked when checking out

- When running heat or A/C, please close all windows and outside doors

- Loud, large parties are not allowed

- Quiet hours are 10:00 pm – 8:00 am. Please be courteous of the neighbors and keep noise levels low

NOTE: Guests who violate house rules, including quiet hours and pet policy, may be asked to leave and are subject to damage fees to recover any losses incurred
