Cute beach house and very friendly neighborhood. The property is in a great location, just a short walk to the beach, the sunset, ice cream shop, a bakery and downtown. We had a wonderful visit!

My daughter and I had a lovely week in Laurel’s beach cottage. The owner was very informative and attentive. We enjoyed the neighborhood and location which was close to the beach, shops and dining options.

Nice small place

The property was very clean when we checked in and very well stocked with stuff needed for our trip. Very quiet little neighborhood. It’s a little small but that was communicated well beforehand. We loved our stay!!

Excellent stay

Perfect house for two people, everyone around us was so nice and so helpful with recommendations for things to do and places to eat. The house has everything you could need and everything is so close by we walked everywhere and left the car in the driveway. The host answered anytime I messaged. Highly recommend staying here and we will definitely be back!

Charming, quiet and perfect

Everything from the first communication with Laurel to the ease of check in / check out was exceptionally pleasant. The house is a perfectly charming, clean and quiet retreat with everything one needs for a low key beach vacation - comfortable living room, lovely sun room and efficient AC units. We loved the neighborhood - particularly the bakeries & ice cream shop at the corner. We’re already taking about next year at Laurel’s. This home / owner is a true treasure.

Pleasant stay

Location is good. The street itself is private and made of sand so our 2 yr old could play outside. Close to everything you need. The house itself is clean and for the most part has what you need. We did have to buy our own toilet paper and bring our own bedding, towels, pillows, etc which was a lot to pack. That being the only downside. Everything else was great. Checkin was easy and Laurel was very accommodating. Definitely recommend staying here!

Hi Bianca! Thank you for staying with us! Glad your little enjoyed the sand! Sorry about the toilet paper. I wish you had written me. I would have told you where to find it. We have a stock of garbage bags, paper towels and toilet paper. Sorry about that! Enjoy the rest of the summer! Sincerely, Laurel

A Wonderful Experience

We had a wonderful two week stay this August at Laurel and Sue's cottage. The cottage itself was charming and cozy, and provided everything you would need for a beach getaway. The beach is two, very walkable, short blocks away and is notable for its spaciousness and relative privacy. Many good restaurants are within a two mile radius. If you are unfamiliar with the Ortley Fish Market, you might want to sample their New England Clam Chowder or Lobster Bisque for takeout; it's as good as any soup served on Cape Cod. Sue and Laurel are exceptional hosts; you will definitely not find a better property at this price point so close to a truly exceptional beach at the Jersey shore.

Small property as advertised which was fine except for having to putt away/get out sofa bed since just 1 person staying (see why below). Great location near restaurants, ice cream etc. but really almost 2 blocked from beach. Laurel great on communicating the check in details which I appreciated. One issue was access to loft bedroom wasn’t a proper staircase it was an attic ladder, fixed in place, but still steep and open, not like real stairs, and without adequate handrails. I had not planned to sleep on the downstairs fold out sofa bed for a week!

Such a cute little place, this was my 2nd time staying. And I liked it better than the first time. It’s the best value in this area, or you will need to go to Sea Side. My family from Calif comes every July for a week and only a few min walk to their house.I accidentally left my good quality bedding and two favorite pillows and Laurel texted me. I was really appreciative for that cause I really wanted them. The cleaning lady told her I left them.I was already home an hour away so they bagged them and put them on table outside and my daughters in-laws live a couple streets away came and got them. For meThe bed in loft is very comfortable, air conditioners work good. Some nights I didn’t need them. And they cool down the house pretty fast, so I didn’t run them during the day when it wasn’t that hot.And loved the water pressure in shower!Host very responsive, and friendly, some times it’s needed.I’ll be back next yrCheryl

Great two weeks at cozy beach house

After enrolling our 7 and 4 year old daughters at a nearby swim school, we reserved this property as our home base for two weeks, not really knowing the area or having been to the Jersey shore before. All around, it met our needs and provided a nice vacation for our group of one adult and two kids. We appreciated the simplicity and basic amenities the property provided, and were fine with a cozy environment that was a block and a half from a peaceful, clean and quiet beach, rather than a larger property further away. The house was clean and had pretty much everything we needed. The location was great for taking advantage of the shops and restaurants on the main drag of Lavalette, movies at the Gazebo, and the ice cream shop at the end of the block. It was also a brief drive to downtown Pt. Pleasant and the Pt. Pleasant Boardwalk, which was a hit with the kids. Laurel was great to work with...very responsive via email and text, though candidly there wasn't too much to discuss as everything was in order and easy to find during our stay. It's a great option for a couple's getaway, or a parent and two younger kids. Thanks for the hospitality.

Charming Little Doll House

Laurel was very pleasant and easy to work with. The house was spotless and comfortable. The bathroom was tiny and the loft worked for me since I am short. There is a pull out bed downstairs though. The front porch has two rockers which I enjoyed. There is a picnic table outside. The Bay and the Beach were within walking distance. We were able to walk the beach each morning and watch sunsets at the Bay in the evenings. The bay is perfect for small children.

AMAZING!!

We stayed here and couldn’t be happier! The house was adorable, clean, and perfect! There are so many personal touches that make it feel like home/part of the family. There were so many great things, like the sound soother, Alexa, the guest book, movies, ceiling frame paintings, etc. everything was beautiful. The street is quiet and right next to not only the ice cream parlor but also a bakery. It was also like a 5 minute walk to the beach. We can’t wait to stay here again next year! Thank you for creating a perfect little getaway!

The place was clean & had everything I needed for a relaxing week at the Jersey Shore.

The owner was very responsive to any needs and was even concerned that it happened to be a rainy week & delayed my check out so I could have more time on the beach. The neighbors we met were very welcoming & friendly. It was a great place to relax & unwind at the Jersey Shore.

Warm cozy cottage so close to the beach!

The house was extremely clean, comfy and overall a great experience. We stayed the weekend and the owners were flexible and accommodating for our specific needs. They are extremely responsive and make sure your stay is truly a five star experience. The house is in a perfect location; steps away from the beach, bakery, ice cream shoppe and you are close to everything you need and more. The environment is also fantastic; friendly neighbors, a real sense of community and made us feel extremely welcome. No doubt we will be returning!
